Ron Paul: Christianity == Fascists

Ron Paul will not water down his message.

Ron Paul does want to shock people. They need to be shocked and they need to think. That's the only path we have out of this mess.

Oh geez........look, what the statement implies is that if and when fascism comes to America, it will disguise itself as something good.

ABSOLUTELY! It is as simple as that. Ron Paul is a Christian, who believes in a creator and that Jesus is the savior and all that nonsense. Why in the world would he call himself a fascist? Obviously the media will spin it, because it is filled with retards and libertariphobes (new word) who love their religion controlling every aspect of other people's lives...at least, that's what it appears like. No one should be offended by the quote, especially since for the majority of history, it applies very well. Most of the major problems in the world were brought on by people disguising their ultimate plans of controlling people with religion and God, things human beings generally assume are good and moral.

Fedup100 - dude, first of all please don't write in fonts like that, it sounds like you're screaming at me.

I understand perfectly well what Ron Paul was saying, what I wanted to bring up is the fact that Christianity is a majority in this nation, and no offense or anything but I'm sorry that not all of America are as smart as the Ron Paul supporters, and many would be offended simply based on a first-impression reaction. Prejudice clouds the thinking, and if you want to convince someone that your idea is right, it is certainly better to appeal to their sympathies, rather than offend them from the get-go.

actually dude, christianity only makes up 30% of americans

Ok. I KNOW that Ron Paul didn't mean to say exactly that Christianity = Fascists, but with today's political world, the pundits and the other candidates will surely spin it off that way. I know that Ron Paul meant to say that too much Christianity may lead to fascism, or something of the like, but did he have to say this about a mere Christmas Ad?

Of course, Fox is a piece of sh*t for leading him up to that answer, as well as trying to make him look as bad as possible afterwards. However- and this is my opinion- I'm afraid that Dr. Paul may have committed the first political blunder of his career. It's nothing major, (or is it...) but it certainly wasn't the best answer Dr. Paul could have given, especially on MSM. Although the answer makes perfect sense, the problem is most Americans are Christians and the first impression they get - a lasting one - is that Ron Paul - a candidate they may have seen for the first time - thinks Christians are Fascists?

I am a passionate RP supporter but even I felt a bit offended when Paul compared Huck/Christianity to Fascism. Perhaps a light scolding about Huckabee ignoring the separation of Church and State clauses in our Constitution would have done, but certainly not a blatant reference to Fascism, something that Americans view as completely repulsive, in even the same sentence, much less comparison, with the word Christianity, something Americans treasure and believe in.

Non issue. Jesus Himself said the same thing 2,000 years ago that Paul is saying now.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets. They come in sheep's clothing but are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 7:22,23
Many will come in that day and say did I not prophesy in Your name? Did I not cast out demons in your name? I will say unto them I never knew you. Depart from Me you workers of evil.

Matthew 24:24 There will come false Christs and false prophets working great signs and wonders such that if it were possible they would deceive the very elect.

Chuckle and insult

Since when did Ron Paul become one of Fox's crappy political analysts/washed up Public Relations reps??

A huge proportion of his questions directed towards him are questioning the psychology/strategy behind his opponents' marketing campaigns.

Ron Paul should prepare for these insulting questions with a quick, sharp insulting come back that puts the interviewers in their place without looking rude - and I think this can be done effectively because it is seriously annoying to any viewer to have to watch this crap.

In fact, he could say just that - "This is insulting to your viewers and to any American taking the time to be interested in REAL issues. Please move on to the next question."

What's with all the Huckafreaks posting smear attacks all of the sudden?

but did he have to say this about a mere Christmas Ad?

"It reminds me of what Sinclair, umm, Lewis once said. He said when fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross. AND I DON'T KNOW WHETHER THAT'S A FAIR ASSESSMENT OR NOT...

Where's he say that "Huckabee or Christianity = fascism"? Blatant smear attempt. He thought: "Hmm, hidden message, cross, hey, Sinclair Lewis."
