ok, i'm not sure i fully understand the top part.... but let me dive a little deeper.
I was responding to post 329 - diff poster.
1. So, the plan would be to target the Womens cluster and news cluster.
I was suggesting additional time slots for both. Women poll poorly for us and the 55+ crowd also poll poorly for us but like their news!
2. Am i correct in saying that we don't know the price? I originally thought it was 12,000 per cluster but now it seems as though that rate doesn't apply for political ads?
As I understand it, the price for political ads is the same for short spots. The price is different (higher) for "infomercials" as we are a political group and are not selling anything. They also call them shows - not infomercials, for political spots.
3. How much would it cost to produce an ad, and do we even have the talent on this board to do so?
We have some excellent talent on this board, there is the Alaska group that excels at video editing, I have contacts with a couple of professional filmmakers and there are a bunch of youtube cowboys and the animation group in NJ, as well as others I don't know about. REVPAK also seems to have a competent team. I don't see this as a problem.
4. would you be buying airtime for now or dec/jan/feb ?
I ideally want to target between Christmas and New years - people are on holiday, families are together. People are watching a lot of TV. Closer to the primaries is also possible, I just think the holiday is ideal for maximum viewership.
5. what is the reach again? How much exposure does each ad get per run?
Each ad? it is hard to say. We can pick time slot and cluster, but that is about it. In this latest look, we are looking at up to 108 million viewers across 77 channels. The two I was looking at before were something like 68 million viewers and 80 million viewers - potentially - but they were more urban.
There is overlap, but we are looking at different populations and costs to reach them.
