We've got a grassroots supporter who has some billboard space that he is offering available as an in-kind contribution to ALC PAC. (Chris Rye, the director of For Liberty.)

It's looking like we have two, possibly three, billboards to choose from.

For now, design a few scalable mockups of what you'd like to see on these two 14' x 48' spaces.

Billboard 1:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l...IKwXW8o-OyWjATlD_A&cbp=12,59.6,,0,-11.09&z=19

Billboard 2 (harder to see, best to use fewer words):

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l...295ZVExy6uGyC8dzQ&cbp=12,188.57,,0,-1.45&z=17

Located along one of busiest interstates in Missouri.

The only costs involved in this billboard project are paying for the banner to be printed/hung. The price is $1 per square foot.

14x48 = 672 sq ft or federal reserve notes

We can set up a chip in goal that feeds into ALC PAC for this cost once we have come up with some mock ups that have a green light.

When Chris has enough funds, after covering paypal fees for this project, he will forward a check on so that the banner can be printed.

Ideal for Billboard 1 but possibly more succinct:

"Ron Paul, the change you hoped for is OK or Believe in America--Vote Ron Paul Republican primary--more donations from the military than all the other candidate!

Ron Paul--More support from the military than any other candidate!
Wars don't make us safe, a strong defense and a strong economy do."

The most recent FEC numbers may be good data to source as that info came out today.

Ideal highlights for Billboard 2: End The Fed, Ron Paul 2012, Short Message, etc.

We will also need to include a disclaimer like the one on this billboard in the bottom right.

I think that's all I got for now.

Do you have any more suggestions? Colors? Images - face vs no face? Do you want the campaign logo?

Which interstate is this on, does it pass through several states, and what is the demographic of the people driving through this point? I don't know much about Missouri politics and what is important to them.

When asked what they were looking for, they came back with what I listed in the ideal highlights for the billboard.

Other then that, you can use what you think works best.

Ok, here's the latest one.

Higher res version.

Text is just placeholder while I play around with it.

Nice work Darin, that looks very appealing.

Also, please keep your layers intact!

I gave it a rough shot... it's tough to keep it visible from a distance.

1 and 2

These look great! Just a suggestion for an action statement that might fit best on design one.
Attention Getter: "You can save America"
then, above Ron Paul...
Action Statement: "Vote For".

I'm having trouble trying to fit much on them while still keeping it easy to read from a distance. It's kind of hard to tell since the only way to gauge this is to shrink it down to billboard size, which doesn't take real life (contrast, speed, lighting, etc) into consideration. If I make something too small (I have President at the top of that first one), people will focus on trying to see what the little thing they can't see is, and I think won't pay attention to the rest. I know I've done this before myself, and I don't want people driving by thinking "What was that word I didn't see?!"

Here's what I have so far:

Or here's one with "Restore America"

This is the best approximation I can do of how it might look. Here are two more adjusting for contrast/blur: 1, 2, and 3

I added "Vote for", and I'm trying to keep the word "President" in there. I darkened the least important words, since people driving by will likely only be able to read 5 or so words. Plus a short simple message might stick more in the mind.

Thanks Eire, welcome to the forums.

I'll let you all know when I receive feedback.

Feel free to submit more.

You have done a great job making this readable... very attractive as well. The colors will work well and it will be very visible in both night and day. A couple of fyi's... Red and Yellow do not transmit well over a long distance during the day... Yellow works well at night but red still has a problem with distance viewing. The font the campaign is using is called Minion Pro.

This will work well to the audience passing the billboard in Missouri... good job of targeting the viewers. Some billboards will work better in some markets and not others. A hippie peace billboard could work very well in areas of California and other places. But, would probably not be well received in Missouri. Here is a quick rough for your consideration and is an attempt to insert an attention getter... your choice to proceed with it or not.

Here is another version of my billboard, since I understand some people can't read very quickly especially while driving..so Im approaching this with the idea that it might make people look into Ron Pauls character and then discover his ideas from there.

my vote is for the most clear and precise. I would argue that going 55mph you just want one that can be read, not one that takes a lot of understanding. Something like "Ron Paul, Bring Home the Troops!" It's appealing to almost EVERYONE, not just people that understand the failures of the federal reserve. "End the Fed" only appeals to people who know what the fed is. On these forums generally we are all educated and have opinions on those matters. The general public isn't quite there yet. Anyways best of luck guys!
