Ron Paul/Barry Goldwater Jr. to be on the ballot in LA

Why don't I see the Libertarian Party on that list??

Post 299:
Just got off the phone with the LALP chairman.
They don't have all their paperwork in to get Barr on the ballot in Louisiana.
They have until tomorrow, but their elector in shreveport is awol and without his paperwork they will have to back the Paul/Goldwater ticket.
Plus, I got them to commit to our precinct program.
That is a huge force.

Any chance of getting the constitution party to do the same?

doubt it, when it really comes down to it... the guys running these parties put their party above principle and country.
I've called out the LALP on such behavior, and a few have taken a step back to look at what they are doing.
I'm not talking about their general membership, but just the people at the very top of the parties in each state.
In fact, they would be insulted if you asked them to back Ron's ticket at the cost of not having their own guys on there.

I found it through google images seaching for lizard man.
in response to the agents on this forum trying to convince people Ron was just running a PCC to loot them and keep them from advancing freedom.. and in response to some people accusing the CFL of stiffling our voices and charging dues to keep us down... and in response to people calling me a fraud...
So... our leaders must all be apart of the reptilian scheme to enslave humanity.
Besides, maybe it will scare the demented off.

The LALP is dominated by Reformers--not Radicals. You can ask Brent to confirm that, but im almost positive it is true.

If they dont get Barr on the ballot, then I hope they'll back our ticket. If they do--I will personally ask the LACP to drop their candidates and back us.

Yes, you are correct, the LALP central committee is now ran by pragmatic reformers. Moderate and open.

What about September 20th, 11:30am-2:00pm at the cottage lunch diner in alexandria for our meeting?
We could have it this saturday if you think people can adjust their schedules that quickly.

torchbearer,

That sounds fine. But we need to make sure everyone heres about it. I'll hit my local lists, including the college ones, but I have no extensive state-wide connections.

I can contact our activist in the different city-regions, and have them contact their local membership.
Also- I will look up the address, so in any email you send out, people can use the google map link to give them directions from their location,
plus, we need to hammer out an agenda.
We can do so on this thread.

For instance,

Our number one priority should be fundraising.
Without money, we can't do very much. So we will need a strategy in place.
This will require your webmaster, since a money bomb would require his full attention. Ideally, it would be good for him to be available via phone during the meeting, and we can put him on speaker phone.
Another phone guest we should try to have is AdamT. If we are collecting funds, we need an easy way to keep track of it. You can do this yourself, but you will need to get the state packet for more info.

Once we have fundraising figured out, we will need a plan in place to quickly buy up TV air time, and possibly have someone retool some of the grass roots videas, like linked to on this thread... so that we will have something ready to run.
When is absentee voting? Our ads need to start prior to that time.

Also- yard signs. These will be apart of our neighborhood canvassing... along with push cards and/or magnets.

Torch,

I agree. Fundraising should be put up front. We should hope for, and expect, help from Ron Paul Forums people--this is an exciting event where they can really help.

But we should also put a few events in place, especially opportunities for Barry Goldwater, Walter Block, and some other guys to speak to an energetic crowd. My best suggestion is a rally in Baton Rouge where Barry Goldwater Jr., Dr. Walter Block, the state leader of Campaign for Liberty, and a few other guys can speak to a decent sized crowd. You pay $10 to get in and/or we simply ask for donations.

Yardsigns are an important part and should feature our website prominently, as we want to drive all traffic there--so people can figure out what exactly it is we are doing. Radio and TV ads are even MORE important,as we must make the buys soon.

As for AdamT--I'd like his help. I am incapable of running the financial end of this thing, Im too disorganized and have too little time.

by tomorrow at this time, i will have all the info for everyone to send out to call everyone to convene in alexandria, sept 20th.

torch,

"to convene in Alexandria" makes it sound like a Liberty Summit. =)

Sorry, I have technical language problems from writing too many sociological papers.
But yeah, This ticket could bring together CP, LP, and Reform people along with indies, dems, and reps. We may actually get to bill this ticket as a true unity ticket... and any person in louisiana who is for unity under a constitutional republic should vote for this ticket.
If I get the LALP behind the ticket.
If you get the LACP behind the ticket.
If we get the reform party of louisiana behind the ticket, I'd say that is pretty unifying.
(reform missed the deadline too)

What are the immediate aspects that need attending to?

step one, get the call to convene to every ron paul supporter in the state.
I will have the official call to convene done tomorrow around 4pm.
looking for a sept 20th convention to decide all the specifics and get everyone on the same page. we will have about 4 weeks from that date to have everything in place.
