Ron Paul/Barry Goldwater Jr. to be on the ballot in LA

They arent on YET, but we are now collecting electors forms for this very important project. A final decision has been made to place Paul/Goldwater Jr. on the ballot in LA!

Remember, this is a deep red state that hates McCain. It is a state that has an appreciation for Barry Goldwater and where we almost won the GOP Caucus. If you are interested in helping us in the effort---we need $500 for a filing fee. You can email me at [email protected] if you are able to help in any way (including website creation and management).

can you please explain to me why are you doing this let alone uging us to help you?

If McCain is the final nominee for GOP come after Sept 4, would it matter if it's Obama/McCain/Paul ticket in just one state?

Or is there something I don't understand....

I can't speak for him, but, since we can't get a fair election in this state, even in a small party caucus, this is our best way to teach the leaders of the state GOP some blowback.
If we are successful, we can be responsible for their defeat.
Why is that important?
The only way we will replace them without secure elections is if their lackeys loose confidence in their program.
And if they continually lose... and they no longer have power, their lackeys will no longer follow them and we will have a chance to replace them.

The LAGOP broke their rules to keep us from winning.
They admitted to it in convention and basically told us to fuck off.
If we can take over a lot of the GOP voters with this ticket, it will be our way of bitch slapping them... over and over and over.
And it will resonate to all the other states.

Looks good! It should be a cheap print job too, with just a single color printed on white.

Why not reverse the color-scheme? That'd be even cheaper to print and it'd still stand out. I think the resources could be made on this project if we're all serious about this.

One color is charged as one color, even if we had the entire sign covered in blue ink, it would be the same as having one drop of blue ink. just the way its priced.
So it is ok to take advatange of a blue background.

We are serious about it in Louisiana. Waiting to see if everyone else will join us.

Well you support Bob Barr, and this is a Ron Paul forum, so obviously efforts to promote Ron Paul and his message are going to take priority. If we're going to vote for a no-chance candidate, might as well vote for the right no-chance candidate.

Yeah- I like Barr, I was going to vote for him, but Ron Paul is the better candidate, and I will support him if he is on the ballot.
I told one of my close libertarian friends last night and he was pissed too, but he'll get over it.
Barr wasn't planning to do anything in this state anyway, the Barr campaign has ignored all LALP attempts to get a Barr campaign going in Louisiana, and Barr is polling poorly here.

His objection was that Barr may have a shot at 5% nationally which would make ballot access easier in a lot of states for the next election which would save the LP alot of money.
BUt the odds that Barr was going to get many votes in Louisiana is very slim, so I told him that was a void argument. He couldn't disagree.

Could there be a section on the lataxpayer.com website where pdf files for fliers, signs and pushcards can be placed? The one on the Ron Paul campaign site came in very handy when cost or expediency was a problem.

I just bought paulgoldwater.com and paulgoldwater2008.com...it might come in handy if this thing takes off

I suspect Paul will poll more votes in LA than Barr and Baldwin combined...even if we dont do ANYTHING to promote him. Barr will score roughly the same as any other LP candidate and Baldwin will score roughly the same as any other CP candidate. But,we'll be taking MORE votes from McCain and Obama.

If you could have those paulgoldwater.com sites redirect to the LATaxpayers.com, that'd be best for now I guess.

Are there any other states it might be possible to get this ticket on? Obviously it's really late to begin this process but it might make a bigger splash if it's on 2-3 states as opposed to just the one.

You'd have to check the rules in each state. States that could still put a third-party candidate on are Alabama, Rhode Island, Minnesota, and Wisconsin--but I dont know their rules about wether the candidate must sign something, etc.

chipin off of lataxpayers.com

Heath, we should consider removing the chipin widgit from www.lataxpayers.com - I was unaware that people can donate beyond 100%. ...we ended up with $600, lol... I ended the chipin, so no more people can post. It might look good to leave it up with 120%, but then again it might confuse people who try to chipin.

I'm going to contact the contributors and find out who wants a reimbursement proportional to their share of the contributions.

You guys already got $600? AWESOME..better add $25 to that.....I mailed it this morning
