2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul drew a remarkable 4,400-plus supporters and undecided voters to his town hall meeting in Ithaca, New York ahead of the Empire State’s Tuesday, April 24th Republican primary.

Ron Paul’s town hall meeting occurred at 7:00 p.m. ET at Cornell University’s Lynah Rink, located at 536 Campus Road in Ithaca, NY 14853. At the event Dr. Paul discussed his platform of constitutionally-limited government, restoring economic and civil liberties, and elements of his path-breaking ‘Plan to Restore America,’ an economic blueprint designed to reign in federal government spending, growth, and interference in the economy.

Has Romney even got half this much anywhere? At the start of the campaign these would have been impressive crowds, but now it is amazing considering that Ron Paul only has a slim shot at the nomination. I am thinking most in the crowd want him to run third party. I hope Ron Paul takes these huge crowds into consideration now and seriously considers running third party.

I was there!

I was waiting in line with my 3 year old, wife, and 3 friends...

Daddy, I have to do poopy.

erg.

Get out of line... deal w/ junior... get back from the rest room... line is already in; including my wife and friends.

AND THEY CLOSE THE DOOR IN FRONT OF ME...

DENIED AT THE GATE! MAX CAPACITY. CLOSED BY FIRE MARSHALL!!!!
15 minutes later... when the crowd was finally seated... they let the last of us (about 40-50) in just in time for RP to get on stage.

Packed house... good times.

were there protesters?

There were a few lone wolfs... one guy had a sign about "anti-semite" "racist" or something... He got his sign snatched and ripped up... then was approached by security for being disruptive.

99.9% packed house, applauding admirers, chanting in unison... hooting and hollerin' ...booing when appropriate

Paul mentioned homeland security purchasing "half a billion bullets", which was new material for his speeches.

What he said was, "the Deparment of Homeland security just purchased a half a billion bullets, who do you think they are going to use them on?" I almost shit. Chills up my spine. That struck me as well, presence. I just wanted to add the last part to bring it into perspective.

I attended the luncheon and thought about driving home after. I'm very glad I stayed for the rally. It was incredible. Ron Paul has awesome supporters. It was such a positive atmosphere. The only protest I noticed was a woman who shouted "It's not Obama's fault!" or something like that outside the arena. However, she was out numbered by about 5000 to 1. The level of support is way more than the media would have you believe.

Please spread the word.

Last steam had over 20,000 viewers. for this one it is expected that it will have over 50,000. IF we spread the word it will be way more than that! More people watching equals more people donating.

Back in 2009 DHS/ICE purchased 200 Million as well. With their 450 Million Purchase this year... you're actually up to 650 million; thats a double tap on ever man, woman, and child. Its not like they're range rounds either; they're hollow point.

And that's DHS. I can only imagine the stats on all the police agencies combined, plus the FBI, CIA, NSA.

Overt upcoming orders aside, I bet we're talking tens of billions of rounds on the collective shelves of non-military gov't agencies.

You got me all fired up... we're off subject dammit.

I sometimes question some of those people's loyalty... do they have loyalty to the USA or loyalty to Israel? I understand that there is pride for the country you or your ancestors came from, but an American screwing USA by prioritizing another country is "eww".

I don't necessarily approve of ripping up his sign.

I don't necessarily approve of ripping up his sign.

I don't necessarily endorse the action... but I smirked.

I didn't have the best line of sight, but it looked like the guy had a tinfoil yamaka (kippah) on his head. Quirky character.

I was there, with the Ithaca RP group (the "townie" group as opposed to the college group), representing for Dr Paul! I got floor seats, and I must say being 30 feet from Ron Paul after wanting to see him for so long was just incredible. We started sign waving at 3 PM (though I had to drive some folks to the event and such so I actually didnt get to attend the sign wave I helped organize), and by the time I got there at 4:45 there was already a line hundreds of feet long. By 5:30 that was several hundred yards, at the height of the line it must have been a mile long (based on nothing but my eye). Many were turned away at the door and it was absolutely standing room only.

In the crowd there was only one real heckler, who had a sign that said Dr Paul was racist/homophobic/etc. The crowd began chanting "Asshole" at the person with the sign, and the sign was snatched away and ripped up to the applause of the crowd. The person was then told to not be disruptive by the police.

On the floor I got to see and talk to Ed King, the youth coordinator, as well as David Gay, RP's state coordinator in New York who gave a quick 2 minute speech on his behalf before Dr Paul was introduced by the YFP leader. He gave a fantastic speech and represented our local grassroots very well. When Dr Paul was announced, the place went absolutely crazy. I've been in Lynah Rink for many BIG hockey games that were completely sold out and I've never heard that building so loud. The people in the building were very passionate and the place was electric.

Dr Paul's speech was very good, talked about many of his more "progressive" talking points (civil liberties, war, etc), which is appropriate for this town. He stated the need to stay on the congress about these horrid bills and get rid of the unconstitutional executive orders. All of this got big applause from the crowd, I've never been more captivated by a speech in my life! That is not because Ron Paul is an amazing speaker or a great communicator, but his message and obvious passion for it enthrall me.

Ron Paul then left the stage to a deafening chant of "PRESIDENT PAUL" and the night was complete. I never thought my region could turn out so massively for liberty, even I a tireless grassroots RP worker underestimated the sheer power of our revolution. This idea is not going away, and these insane crowds prove it. Honestly, I think they may have turned as many as 800 people away it was so mobbed!
