I have yet to hear anything from Ron Paul about his view on Agriculture, and how he might support agriculture if he is elected. I am a proud member of the National FFA Organization and a Chapter Officer for the Randleman FFA Chapter.

Anyone here happen to know Ron Paul's views on Agriculture in this country?

And he's for allowing farmers to grow whatever they want, like hemp. He'll also end this ethanol bullshit by stopping subsidies for oil companies, and then farmers can *gasp* start growing food again!

Sweet, great to hear. I'm tired of the inflation in the beef production area. Holestien steers went down per steer in price because of all this damn inflation we are getting.

He has been a leader trying to end government restrictions on our agricultural exports--most especially selling rice to Cuba (important in his district).

In two words its about freedom and fiscal responsibility. No more welfare for rich farmers. No more payments to DEAD farmers. No more subsidies to produce an oversupply of commodities or force it towards just one use products like ethanol. And farmers will be able to grow hemp or other crops they want.

I live in a farming area too and the Feds have done a wonderful job of screwing Agriculture royally. Its time for a new direction and Ron Paul provides it

Speaking of agriculture, yesterday I asked a question about food safety and how RP would handle it.

I appreciate the thoughtful replies; however, in thinking about it after those replies, I see the food problem as a national security problem. With more and more tainted food coming in from China and God-only-knows where else, there has GOT to be some role for the Feds to play in safety. Right now, they play none at all. The FDA and USDA are too busy covering the ass of BigAg.

What's the answer, considering that some foreign government could cause problems for the US public?

If you end the relationship between the Fed and BigAg, food production will become decentralized and more local. Then it won't be as much of a security risk. You probably won't be able to buy 100 calorie packs of fat free oreos anymore, but I think thats a good thing.

I believe there should be no regulation or licensing by the feds. As before the organic food laws there were private groups that monitored the organic market that did quite well. Private groups like Consumer reports and others would go out of business if they lied where as the FDA lies all the time and prevents us from getting many cures.
