Lowry is a strict constitutional conservative who showed in 2010 that he appeals to tea party activists and the libertarian wing of the GOP, although he’s probably too innately independent to attach himself completely to any movement.

In 2010, then-U.S. Rep. (and libertarian darling) Ron Paul embraced Lowry’s candidacy, with a from-one-doctor-to-another endorsement. Paul vouched for Lowry’s small-government bona fides by calling him a “Ron Paul guy all the way” and dismissed Canseco (who served one congressional term before Gallego ousted him last November) as a “party parrot” and a “useful idiot.”

Well, at least he gave him credit for being useful.

We'll have a good Texas slate in 2014 for sure. Arterburn, Lowry, McCall, and of course Stockman.

But we have to work hard to make sure they get elected. Getting their names out, spreading them on the internet, etc. is very important. The earlier they're known, the better. :)

By the way, I hope to make Georgia the second most liberty-friendly delegation in 2014! :)

We must especially target these deep "red" seats. We can't let RINOs/neo-cons fill this seats...too good of opportunities!

Let us know who turns up in GA!

Don't forget Gohmert, he's one of the best too.

As well as that, Pierson (who's already received a FreedomWorks endorsement) is primarying Sessions, McMichael is primarying Brady, Watkins is primarying Barton, Hays is primarying Thornberry.

We have a really good chance at uprooting multiple establishment moderates in Texas.

Correction: Hays is primarying Thornberry. Also, she just posted this status on her Facebook about why she's running. Really liked it, so sharing it here:

Why I Am Running

As the past two weeks have highlighted, Washington is desperately in need of fiscal leadership. As a Certified Financial Planner, I have a history of fiscal responsibility and know the importance of spending within your means and the destructive nature of excessive debt.

Washington needs the perspective of economists and business owners. Less than 20% of Congress has any background in economics, finance or small business ownership, yet they write laws that impact every business owner and consumer in the country. My background in finance, economics and small business ownership brings a much needed perspective to legislation - exposing the unintended negative consequences to our economy through current economic policy.

Our founders envisioned citizen legislators and not career politicians. Remaining in Washington for decades and exempting yourself from certain laws leads to the creation of an elected aristocracy. I believe it is time for our current Representative to come home and live under the laws he helped create.

If you agree these are good reasons to run against our 20 year incumbent, please Like and Share this message with your friends.

My concern with Hays is how strong of an incumbent- as far as following goes- Thornberry is. After all, he beat his 2012 challenger 77.5 percent to their 22.5 percent. And this is after he had voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act and voted for TARP. Only new thing he has on him may be voting against the Amash Amendment, since he voted against reopening the government.
