It's a fight that needs to happen.
Either this website will move on to the future and continue to be relevant, and I'll keep coming here, or she will stay on as a mod.
You can take it up with Josh. I don't expect Ron to run, I just think Ron is the best candidate, to the extent that he would still be best if he did run in 2016, regardless of his age. Because of that, I do oppose the idea that he would be taking a back seat position to anyone.
IF he ran at all, I would want him in at the top of the ticket. However, I see him as more likely the standard bearer, at that point, while someone else may be the candidate. I wasn't the person who started this thread.
But note the mission statement:
Mission Statement: Inspired by US Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, this site is dedicated to facilitating grassroots initiatives that aim to restore a sovereign limited constitutional Republic based on the rule of law, states' rights and individual rights. We seek to enshrine the original intent of our Founders to foster respect for private property, seek justice, provide opportunity, and to secure individual liberty for ourselves and our posterity.
and the modified Liberty Forest introduction Josh had after the 2008 election was over, when Ron Paul Forums was the subtitle instead of the main forum name:
Welcome to Liberty Forest, (LibertyForest.com). Named after the Liberty Tree, a famous elm tree that stood near the commons of Boston, Massachusetts Colony, in the days before the American Revolution. The tree was a rallying point for the growing resistance to the rule of England over the American colonies. In the years that followed, almost every American town had its own Liberty Tree—a living symbol of popular support for individual liberty and resistance to tyranny.
We are the Liberty Forest so to speak, as the internet is one large meeting place and we welcome all who rally here in defense of freedom and liberty.
The forums aren't just about electing one particular person to one particular office. Candidate elections are a big part of what grass roots work on, in the candidate subforums, but they are not the only relevance this overall Ron Paul Forums has. This is Ron's subforum and since I don't personally expect him to run again for office, I expect it will be more devoted to his supporters supporting his philosophy and issue advocacy, which he has indicated he will be continuing.
I'm focused on some 2014 races, preliminarily, but I don't see a reason to focus on 2016 yet. I am focused on specific political issues however, and on grassroots initiatives supporting the mission statement, and on having a meeting place for people with a similar mindset, including Ron Paul supporters regardless of what other candidates they may or may not support in various races.
