Ron / debate......

I don't think he's doing well...he's coming across as shrill. I think his staffers have done an awful job at debate preparation. Stick to the good stuff...when charlie was asking about principles, he should have talked about never voting for a tax increase, never voting for an unbalanced budget. When they talk about the war why doesn't he bring up that he's right and more military and vets contribute to him because he's right. Sorry had to vent. Everyone else is coming across much more polished and i feel like he's missing great opportunities to highlight the fundamental differences between him and the neocon scum on the stage with him.

It's true, he could be doing a lot better. He has more ammo than anyone there and hopefully he starts using is soon.

I meant it metaphorically.

Not literally.

I'm always hard on Ron. He sounds SO different from everyone else, and that's GOOD. that's what turned me onto him.

But there are SO many moron voters out there, that I think he's coming across as weak, and no Republican who isn't already a RP supporter is going to listen to somebody weak.

Maybe I'm dead wrong.

There are morons everywhere... except New Hampshire... that is probably one of the smartest states on the planet, save Pennsylvania in 1776!

I'm sorry.

I love Ron Paul.

He's the most intelligent man I've ever heard of in my life.
His answers are dead right on everything, and he is beyond his years in foresight.

He's a wimp, and he allows himself to get pushed around.
He HAS to be more forceful or it's OVER.

Thompson TOTALLY owned him in inuendo alone.

I'm sorry.....I don't want to discourage anyone...I'm just venting.

Flame away if you must. :(

I agree... tough to watch this one.

You wanna run for President? Take out the boxing gloves!!!

I think Thompson has done extremely well. Maybe not with Independents, but he sounds very good and is very funny. McCain and Romney look like morons right now. Giuliani is referencing Reagan every three sentences. Huckabee isn't talking very much and sounds like he's copying everybody else when he does.

Paul sounds random often. However, with all the bickering among the other Republicans, he looks very good; and Thompson fits this same mold. They both are very gentleman-like, except for the little skirmish between them; and even that wasn't horribly impolite.

So you're for Thompson... welcome to our site... enjoy your stay and try and learn something about the Constitution while you're here.

No flame, but I think you're misunderstanding a key element of who Ron Paul is and what he stands for. I'm sure you've heard him saying how people have to be ready for the message. Part of being 'ready' is being able to see through the retarded demagoguery. If the voters can't see through it, they're not in a position to understand the principles anyway.

When you think about it, it's almost a prerequisite. I'd bet almost all of us turned to someone like Ron Paul, not because of his eloquent speaking style and charm, but because we first smelled the stench coming off the 'general consensus'. So, Ron Paul could be a better stand up comedian and needs better timing and 'manly' presence. The people who are swayed by such tired nonsense aren't really going to get it anyway.

That kind of a statement is how you turn off normal folks from the Revolution.

I have to say that's ignorant. I am not a Thompson fan. I used to be but am no longer. I am making an open and fair assessment.

Paul just kicked ass on the oil question. He is getting better with every question.

So what? He's being attacked. Everybody piles on the front-runner. The fact that they're attacking him means that they're threatened by him. This isn't the schoolyard, and Paul isn't the "weak" kid being picked on by the schoolyard bullies. Dr. Paul is an accomplished, brilliant, brave man, a man who is making supreme sacrifices for his fellow countrymen, sacrifices that most of us are unwilling or unable to make. He isn't in this for profit or glory. He is in doing this out of a sense of duty. He is confronting evil, corrupt men, and attempting to block them from a seat of power and control over others. His opponents attack him because he poses a unique threat to them. That they attack him is a badge of honor: it means he is succeeding. It means they see him as the man to beat. It elevates his national stature, it does not detract from it. His responses are appropriate and measured. What do you want him to do, whip out a Glock, and pop a cap in their collective @$$es?
