Ron & Carol story

I keep hearing about Kim Kardashian 72 day marriage and people thinking it's a disgrace to marriage. Then you have Cain's sexual allegation and what not. I then saw a story on E! (or whatever channel) about two couples being together for 72 years & dieing together. It captured our (my family) attention and was a breath of fresh air to see something positive.

I then started to think "Well, Ron & Carol been together for 54 years. They should have a nice story to tell with all this crap going on". If they did do one, I don't think the public knows about it much.

Could help?

You might be on to something there. It could be really endearing for social conservatives to hear Ron and Carol's marriage story.

How would they get the story out though?

It would be great in Iowa. Contrast to all of these other candidates and their baggage.

It would certainly help if she would be in more appearances and an ad with her could be very powerful in Iowa. She is the most likable person imaginable. It would be great for the campaign, I think, but it is a family decison they have to make on there own.

I was lucky enough to have talked to her one on one at the straw poll. Other than having a blue volunteer shirt on, I was just an average Ron Paul supporter like thousands of people that day. But she stood there and volunteered with me the story of how Ron was concerned about his parents's future because we were taken off the gold standard, and how that got him more interested in politics to do something about it. She was so genuine and nice..

I met a number of people in the family, including talking at length with Rand's son. They are all really great people.

Ron Paul has raised quite a wonderful First Family!

My nephew posted this on his facebook page.

It angers me so much. I'm a college student, and today during my 3D Sculpting class they started talking about Kardashian's marriage.

I asked people; "Have you heard of Ron Paul or the Federal Reserve?"
Their response: "No, sounds like a politician or something. I hate politics."

i cried inside...

I think it could show the personal side of Ron (that Carol can bring out) that the public doesn't usually see in general interviews & debates. A main story could be done and another one done with the ladies on The View or one with a large female audience (my marketing side coming out).

Although this is up to Carol if she is up to it. I'm sure the campaign can work something out if they like the idea.

I'm hopeful that this will be the Christmas time strategy! This will lead into January so nicely.

I must admit that I think the whole timing of this campaign has been brilliant so far.

I think this is a great idea. The older folks love this sort of story. I'm not that old and I like it.

As I reported in an earlier thread, I had a lengthy discussion with a gathering of retirees and their biggest question about Ron Paul was about his wife. They knew nothing about her and were curious. I've seen her in interviews and she is amazing. When this strategy is implemented, Paul's numbers will skyrocket.

I know they're keeping their powder dry on this one, but it's going to be huge!

Carol is awesome! Think about it - Ron Paul has been mocked and ridiculed his entire career - over 30 years - for standing up for what is RIGHT - and she's stood with him!

Imagine some of his hardest days 'at the office' in Washington making speeches, being ignored or laughed at by everyone in the room.
And then he goes home to Carol. She's been with him, by his side the entire time. Keeping him motivated when he wanted to quit.
Whether they mad him angry or sad - she's been there. And she's given up so much time with her husband to share him with us.
We need a Carol Paul appreciation thread! She deserves it!
