Ron can WIN South Carolina now

Newton LeeRoy & assoc. PACS will point out the record of Mittens in SC , so if Ron makes the case that he is electable & the Conservative choice to Mittens , He can WIN SC !

This picture... just perfect.

SC is patriotic, and has quite a few military service people. I think if ads pointed out Dr Pauls strong military record, and told the truth about Mitt dodging the draft by getting a deferment to go to Mormon school while at the same time protesting the people that were against the draft (bigger chickenhawk than Newt!) it would kill two birds with one stone... Shine a light on Mitt being a Mormon which in SC is akin to being in a cult, and point out his lack of any service experience.
Then hit it home with Newt as the chickenhawk.

The tide is turning against Romney more and more, and people are starting to realize that nobody else can contend consistently, couple that with how fervent Paul's support is...they know we won't just "rally behind another candidate", so they better come our way!

I think a better question is how do we win South Carolina. Here are some themes and ideas:

The number one concern of voters selecting Mitt Romney is they want anyone but Obama. There's a two pronged attack to beat this argument. 1) Ron Paul is the only candidate besides Romney who polls favorably versus Obama, making him a legitimate choice. 2) Our support will be lost, much of it to Obama, if Ron Paul is not selected, which would likely turn the election.

Attacks against Romney's positions will come, in heavy doses from the others, but they will fail, because what the electorate needs to be convinced about is who can beat Obama.

I would like to see a commercial with independent minded people saying how they supported Obama in '08, but would support Paul in '12, saying we need the change he offers. Mix them with strong conservatives, military personnel. You might call it: Who is a Ron Paul supporter?

And let people see that real people, people who make under $50K, are the backbone of this campaign.

the "anyone who can defeat Obama" problem

I think this is Ron's #1 problem right now. With a bullet. And to use Ron's terminology, I think we are tinkering around the edges in our response to this.

We need to attack the idea itself, IMO. To rank-and-file GOP in SC, I would say something like, "I'm worried that a couple of years into a Romney administration, we aren't really going to be able to tell the difference. Do your really think you'll be able to tell the difference?"

Someone mentioend this earlier, but the pic of Ron in military uniform with baby Rand on the bike needs to be plugged in SC

That sounds like a great ad! It would blow the electability argument right out of the water, and also show the military's support for Ron Paul.

This sounds like the way to go:
I think that there will be enough people focused on attacking Romney that we wouldn't have to spend our money doing that. I think the campaign should focus on positive "feel good" ads that target women, AND show the Pro-Life ad. Let the others do the negative stuff. Show ourselves, Ron Paul, as the positive alternative.

I was much more involved on the ground in 07-08 in Alabama and Huckabee won overwhelmingly due to high turnout of older/evangelical voters and it was very disheartening. I wrote off SC but tonight I feel like it is possible for Paul to win it!

We WILL NOT win South Carolina without appealing to the Christians.

On that, I would first like to politely ask that any atheists, agnostics, anti-semites, anti-Israel PLEASE refrain from ANY negative mention of Israel, Zionist,s fundamentalists or Jews. This is critical to our campaign. There is a place for you guys in the campaign like there is for those who don't think like you do but the wrong message could kill us if someone comes around here and reads that sort of stuff in light of the sensitive position we're in and, could blow the whole thing for us and waste the money we're generously giving to the campaign.

If anyone here is a Christian or a religious Jew who respects Christians for their love of Jewish people and the state of Israel, please come help us in one of the Christians For Ron Paul forums here or, on the website that has been set up. We could use all the help we can get to put together a Christian oriented super flyer and to make effective videos. We need help with the content and with the technical side and of course with $$$$$. Rick Santorum has nothing on Ron Paul and I for one won't stand by and allow him to dominate the message. Nor Perry nor Gingrich. This is OUR"S

Ok guys, assuming he wins every single delegate in these mostly proportional states, he'd have 686 delegates. Fact is, even if he places 1st in every single one of these states, that is still not enough delegates to win. And he won't get every single delegate.

So while that is an impressive list of states he *might* win, 16 states in total, it falls well short of the neccissary delegates to actually win the nomination.

I am not trying to be down on anyone, but I just want to highlight, we cannot afford to write off any state for any reason. ESPECIALLY IN A TWO MAN RACE.

Ron got 2nd in Nevada last time. We are working *very* hard at getting him 1st this time!!

I think Ron could also do himself a world of good by talking about what he considers appropriate military spending. An issue that isn't talked about enough, but that I and many others feel strongly about is making sure there is the availability of VA hospitals for all veterans in need. Anyone who has family members who have served and dealt with the healthcare system for our retired and disabled veterans knows they deserve better, and it's a position I think that would demonstrate both real empathy for those who have made sacrifices for us all and something we could support for the military.

In general, I agree with those who say Paul needs to run a positive campaign in SC, because I guarantee everyone else will be nasty. But I think as far as Romney and Obama go, there's another argument. It might sound something like this (imagine a radio spot)...

One of three men will be our next President. Two have written individual health mandates into law taking away your choice of doctor. Two supported government bailouts paid for by your tax money. Two supported Roe v. Wade not protecting those most in need of our protection. Those two men: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

South Carolina, you have a third choice on Election Day who can stop this. A principled leader who opposes mandates. A congressman who voted against the bailouts and the corruption. A doctor who delivered 4,000 babies into this world. A man who served when his nation called, a proud conservative, and the only man standing between us and four more years of Obama's failed economic policies: That man is Ron Paul.
