Romney's Paul Praise

Mitts sideburns were un-even. His right side was lower by about a half inch compared to his left side....

On the subject of Romney's hair, I don't get the swooning. Am I the only one that thinks it's pretty outdated? The long sideburns remind me of the 70s.

Probably referring to the thread title. When I first saw it, it read something like "Romney's Paul Praise is Completely Political"

In before mod edits my post

That's exactly what I put. I see no reason why that should have been censored. :(

It is not because you follow your principles that political strategy should be ignored.

Newt Gingrich is the most dangerous. I see him as the 2012 McCain. Just like in 2008, now the FT is praising Gingrich. Newt is their best choice to keep Obama in office. At least Romney has good poll numbers vs Obama.

I've said this a million times, but Newt is suddenly "surging" for one reason- to keep Ron Paul out of it. The PTB are trying to get a Newt Iowa win, then, it's all Romney all the time and RP isn't even a blip on their radar.

If we win Iowa, we might win NH.

If we win Iowa and NH, we win the nomination.

Not true by any means. We are very far behind in the polls in SC and FL. Even a boost from winning those two states might not be enough. Those states are loaded with NeoCons. Its why I keep advocating for the Super Brochure project to focus on only those states.

I personally don't think there was ANY spin or strategy on Romney's kind words for the good doctor. He meant it all the way. There was no way the mods let on that they were going to ask that question so Romney thought about it right there on the spot and he was sincere in my humble opinion. Am I sold over? Will I vote for him if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination? NO WAY. I am still down with my NO ONE BUT PAUL position. I also thought Perry's kind words were sincere as well.

Now Newt's comment toward Santorum on the other hand was calculated to deflate Ron Paul. He praised Santorum on his "strong position on Iran and bringing to everyone's attention what a serious threat they are". THAT was ALL ABOUT Ron Paul and there is NO doubt in my mind.

Romney may be a lot of things but he is nowhere the sort of snake Gingrich is. Not even close. I disagree with Romney on most of his issues but I will acknowledge that he's a good guy and I really appreciate the kindness he extended to Ron Paul...and us

I'm not sure what to make of Perry and Romney's praise yet. Something is up for sure. Maybe something is going down behind the scenes that we don't know about yet.

More or less my thoughts. They also know this is Ron Paul last big fight. It is Ron Paul's swan song. Ron Paul is all in. Let's not be naive. This is a political game. Ron Paul must play and bring along his principles.

It is strange that nobody ever attacks Ron Paul. Could it be he is not a threat to them? If Ron wins 45% of the delegates and is the only one who can defeat Obama, do you think he can get 6% more delegates belonging to the other neo-cons? I really question whether RP could find an additional 5%. Then Rove gets his beloved brokered
convention. Romney and Gingrich probably think coming in 2nd to Paul is all they need to do. Romney and Paul don't really share voters like Paul and Gingrich probably do. That's why you don't see Paul and Romney going at each other.

It's this that also keeps Ron from ruling out a 3rd Party run. Screw Ron at the Convention and face him in the general as a 3rd Party candidate. Then guaranteed loss to Obama.

The big game might be fought in the back rooms now over these two issues. Each side can destroy the other. Do Republican power brokers dislike Paul or Obama more? That is the question. The bigger a following Ron generates over the next few weeks, the better Ron's bargaining position. Ron's holding a good hand now and I think he knows it.

We go to a pig roast every year and have for the past 28 years. We look forward to this party and actually set our calander by it. Sometimes we take our dogs. But the now 3 yr old puppy of our other two gets car sick. Sometimes she just slobbers really bad but last year she puked and crapped all over the back seat. It was BAD. Really bad and if I had to take her on another short road trip where I couldn't, and wouldn't consider cleaning up dog crap for an hours just as we got there I wouldn't hesitate to put her securely either on my trailer or the roof. Just saying. I/'m sure we can come up with other stuff to attack Romney on like his stupid philosophy of governing his Keynseniasm, his globalism and foreign policy etc etc.

On all these "brokered convention" and " percentage of delegates" and " mitt/newt agreeing on sharing this and that" and majority of delegates between those two ".strategica talk I would like to add:

What a hell are we talking about?

We still have NO faintest single idea how mitt and newt are going to do really and who else is going to come back up..
NO IDEA.
Some one,may be even two candidates ,will surprise in Iowa i feel.

If you ask me newt is just another flavor of the month and it's already landing slowly down..at any rate:
Let's win Iowa and then, only then let's go to the next step .
And after a win in Iowa anything might happen, anything at all.

You think every sentence Mitt says has this much planning behind it?

He gave an honest answer.
