Romney's Paul Praise

Guys,
This isn't about the general. It's about Iowa. Mitt wants Ron to win if he doesn't. Look at this:
http://twitter.com/#!/johnsberman
telling spin from Romney insider, "Ron Paul had a great night..." Wow #IowaDebate
Really interesting from an ABC guy.

On the other hand, Perry was very sincere about the FED, thank you governor Perry. To be honest, Perry has been very friendly with Paul as of late, I completely forgot about that fiasco where he put his hands on Paul and made threatening gestures.

I was under the impression that he said it because he wants Paul to win Iowa, because he thinks Newt is a bigger threat to him in New Hampshire and overall. He thinks he'd have an easier time with Gingrich than with Paul. Let's make him regret this!

He wants Romney to win Iowa, but Paul would be a much better alternative than Gingrich. In Romney's mind, anyway.

Ron Paul's consistency and stances have convinced all, even his competitors in the GOP Primary. Ron is ethical, Constitutional and knowledgeable. He is the senior statesman at this point.

I've been thinking about this more and it actually has me a bit concerned. Is it possible that Perry and Romney know something that we don't? It is possible that the media will begin to bring up the newsletters and they are trying to get in favorably with the Paul supporters?

I agree that Romney wants Ron Paul to win Iowa. Honestly I am not saying he is just totally machiavellian but I don't think he would just praise someone that is an opponent on stage unless he had an angle, and the best angle that makes since is pulling Newt down in Iowa. I be he knows that Ron could win Iowa but thinks he would not win the general, and if he does that destroys the one guy he thinks is a real challenge (Newt).

If Romney wants Paul to win Iowa to tear down Gingrich in NH, it will work to our advantage but he's totally underestimating the impact an Iowa win would have for us. Money, sleeping supporters, fence sitters, and something we've never had: Media attention, would come in like you wouldn't believe.

Probably trying to pump up Paul for the caucus. Romney's chances of winning the nomination are much better if Paul wins Iowa instead of Gingrich.

Well..if Romney wanted Paul to win Iowa he would not have spent 3.5 millions of ads, just in Iowa, for the next 4 weeks..that's a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY,like the record ever of ads in one state at any given period for a primary election for one republican candidate

Isn't a significant amount of that being spent to attack Gingrich?

"Pauls win in Iowa is insignificant because Huckabee won Iowa yet did not win the nomination in 2008"

This is how the media will spin a Paul iowa victory

I majorly disagree - he came across as being sincerely appretiative of the positive attention, while at the same time not pandering to their desires for him to endorse one of them. I think Ron Paul clearly used this as an opportunity bring them all together, which is even better than reciprocation with fuzzies. He backhanded them all with truth. For the win.

Exactly. He used the time to show that they were all taking cues from him, and not he from them. That si important when it comes t voting. If everyone else up there is listening to Paul, including your candidate, shouldn't you be as well?

Oh, stop with the concern over a non-issue already.
