Romney has made an ad buy in Maine as his campaign now views the state as critical for regaining momentum. If you don't believe Maine matters, just try losing it and then you'll find out how big a deal it was. Romney is campaigning in Maine on Friday, and now he has ads up. This is a huge risk for Romney because now he has legitimately contested the state. This is a true battle now.
FROM POLITICO:
"Mitt Romney’s campaign is buying cable airtime in Maine as that state completes its week-long caucus process, a media-monitoring source tells POLITICO.
Maine, which Romney won in 2008 and began voting last weekend, is now the former Massachusetts governor’s only chance at pulling a victory out of this week. Ron Paul is the only other candidate who has been contesting the state aggressively.
I’m told Romney’s flight is a small buy exclusively on Fox News, so far."
