I haven't even figured out why it matters. The only reason . 32 ACP even entered the conversation is because you were desperate to get a subsonic round out of a .30-06 to cover your ass, and I doubt you even remember why you brought subsonic up in the first place.

You don't need a .32 ACP to get subsonic out of .30-06. You can do a subsonic .30-06, and it's not even that hard to do...

None of this has any bearing on reality at all.

Probably not, as it's unlikely that he'd use a conversion kit, or fuck up a defective reload enough to cause it go subsonic, but both are still entirely possible, if not probable.

Considering the government showed us a pic of a rifle with a plastic stock and a mismounted scope in an evidence box, then said it dated back to one or the other of the World Wars when plastic stocks didn't exist, then claimed the rifle they showed us wasn't even the rifle, I'd say the .30-06 rifle itself is looking pretty improbable.

But hey. If you want to spend the next three years looking for weird rounds to shoot out of this improbable firearm, I won't stop you.
