Rick Perry shoots an innocent coyote

anybody who's familiar with coyotes, know if the following is true? Sounds unbelievable if you ask me:

There is a large drainage ditch through the farm on the west side of my house , they jump it and I would estimate it to be 12 to 15 feet most places . A dog could do the same .

I have a bunch around here. Nearby,, but only in the yard once. i chased then off with my wife's shotgun (the one I was arrested over) and they have not been back in the yard.
I wish I had a gun. Considering a crossbow. I'll make me a Coyote Coat.

They make an exceptional rug for the floor in front of the wood stove / fireplace .

I am a wildlife biologist and professional wildlife pest operator. Coyotes can reach speeds of up to 43mph and sustain them for about 15 minutes, though they can cruise steadily along at 30mph for hours. All canines have a natural ability to super oxidize their blood for sustained long distance running. This ability allows them to run down prey much stronger or faster than themselves by wearing the prey out over a chase that may last days.

Lots of coyotes around my place. I see them all the time, including in my yard. I much prefer coyotes to rabbits and pack rats, so I am happy to have them. And I like the spooky calling at night. Although the coyotes would eat my chickens in a heartbeat it has been the bobcats that have been most successful in that endeavor. I have a hard time imagining a non-rabid coyote attacking a full-grown human or his dog.

I pretty well leave all of mine alone as they stay out of the yard . I watch them some late at night after work while on the front porch with a beer .

Canines are about the only animal that can come close to humans in long distance running. But even canines overheat before humans because they don't sweat and can't pant effectively when they are running.

No, the video clearly says that attacks on humans of all sizes are extremely rare. And there's only one documented human death by coyote, ever. They're wild animals, which means they're unpredictable and of course they will bite, but when people don't feed them they're normally quite timid and virtually invisible to humans. It's alarmist bullshit to pretend they're viscous and aggressive, when they're usually not. Again, a toddler or child has a much greater danger of being killed and/or mauled by a family pet.

We've got a huge pack of them around here. When they start chattering at night, it is the spookiest sound I have ever heard. And yet none of the neighbors that I've asked have ever actually seen one.

They hunt in packs, and they surround the prey. They lure small and medium sized yard dogs, first one will act and sound wounded to attract attention, then the others sneak up and surround the dog. I lost a medium sized dog to coyotes several years back, right after the Cedar fires, when the scorched land drove them closer to us. There is nothing more terrifying and heartbreaking than to find the remains of your beloved pet.
