FYI Aldi sells milk for $1.89/gallon. You can get organic almond milk for about $6/gallon by me (sold in the 1/2 gallon carton). Organic milk has been around $6-7/gallon. Don't drink soy milk so no idea.

There are many better alternatives to cow milk that provide superior nutrition without all the crap.

My dad owns an ice cream shop and we make homemade ice cream. We buy our mix from a local dairy. It will be interesting to see how this affects us. Ice cream mix is already extremely expensive, and I don't know how it will be affected by this bill if it is at all.

Yep. Is funny that Humans are the only ones on the planet that continue to drink milk after infancy. It isn't natural. Has nothing to with survival and everything to do with growth. Thus the 8 bucks for the milk. Programmed indeed.

In my county the dairy business has been on a nosedive over the last decade (or 2). There are only 3 dairies left. 1 of them is a raw milk seller. The trend in all agriculture industries is towards huge multinational corporations grabbing up the market while family farms go under. The farm bill enables crony capitalists to cut corners and act irresponsibly while grabbing all the handouts they can get. It's been happening for over 50 years since the Farm Bill began.

I pay $9 a half gallon for raw grass fed milk. Wouldn't drink the stuff they call "milk" in stores if they paid me. Cheese and Butter I get from Ireland, where it is pasteurized but at least it is grass fed.
