Chairman of the House Committee for Oversight and Reform. Waiting for the conspiracy theories to start flying. Will the autopsy report be classified?

NPR did a nice piece on him this morning. The question on my mind they didn't ask/answer was "how well did he do for his constituents in Baltimore?" Crime rate, homicides, poverty, etc. They did mention Trump getting on him for his rat infested district, but the correspondent dismissed it, saying that didn't go anywhere...

Baltimore & surrounding area could be most criminal infested spot in US..

Guy had moments in DC when I admired him...but his own spot in
Baltimore deserved full attention

The man is a piece of shyte congressman(as most congress people are) but I didn't know it was his duty to control crime, homicide, poverty, rat infestation rates in his district. This one is on the people of Baltimore not congress.

RIP...I think i speak for most people on the forum that he was a horrible politician.

Fair point. I totally agree that folks are responsible for their own outcomes.

In an NPR article, Cummings says

"Mr. President, I go home to my district daily," Cummings fired back in a letter to Trump. "Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors."

Referring to investigations of the president, which he perceived as the true impetus for the derogatory remarks, Cummings said in the letter that it is "my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents."

I'd just be curious is his actions helped or hindered Baltimoreans' situation, seeing how passionate Cummings says he was about his constituents...

If he had all these health challenges he should have retired a long time ago and and got the treatment that he needed. Problem is, by retiring he would have to relinquish his power and he didn't want to lose it. He cared too much about the power he didn't want to let it go.
