Remember that woman from Miss. that went to jail for buying Sudafed?

I work at a Wal-Mart pharmacy part-time. Any product that contains pseudoephedrine must be sold behind the counter. You must also present a valid ID and be 18. Do you want to know what the kicker is?

EVERYTIME you purchase pseudoephedrine your name, address, phone number and license ID number are sent to a state government database. EVERY DAMN TIME! It will only allow you to purchase so much in a 30 day period. Do people get frustrated? YES. Do they still buy it because the "MUST" have it? YES.

The country is so f#$*ed up that I truly feel that it can't be saved.

Reminds me of a great song:

So I guess the government should *make* them do as they please?

No, actually I mean *tell them to* do as they please?

OH, no wait, sorry... *Do* them as they please?

No, no, that's not right.. uhhh...

How dare you try to nitpick my nitpick.

As people have said earlier in the thread, this story is the perfect example of why (short of being brutally attacked) you should never communicate with the police. Wasn't more than a week ago that I was driving to pick up some food I had ordered from a local pizzeria and a cop had followed me into the parking lot. As I exited my car, he confronted me and asked me how I was doing, I responded with "Fine". He proceeded to ask me if I would mind informing him of what I was doing, and I gave him the 5th amendment spiel. He definitely was taken aback, but after a couple of further attempts, he confirmed that I was free to go.

If you don't have anything to hide, teach the cops a lesson every single time. This is not Nazi Germany and they have no authority to just "check up" on you every once in awhile. Stand your ground and don't give in, no matter how nerve-wracking it might be.
