Reconciling libertarianism and religion

You sure do like that phrase Kade. I don't think he was asking you to spare his precious faith. He is just saying that the attacks on Christians is kind of unwarranted. I have to agree with him, there are a little subset of people who balk at the sight of the word "religion" or "Christianity" in any topic on these forums and go out of their way to let everyone know their views on religion, even if it happens to be off topic.
 
Which is hilarious considering Ron Paul's views on Christianity and the name of this website.

All I can say is this. There was a protestant reformation and a counter reformation in response to it. America was founded and it was the biggest threat to the the Roman Catholic Church. Why? Freedom of speech, of the press, and democracy. The pope wants to rule the world and cannot have people disagreeing with him. WAKE UP

I don't balk at it. Look at my responses through time. I go after Theocrat and others who post strong Dominionist ideology all over the place, and who say really retarded things, and believe really, really retarded things for policy. I don't appologize for that. People do dumb things because of what they believe. Many here don't, I'm not talking to them.
 
Listen, I wasn't talking about you Kade. In fact, even though I disagree with a lot of what you have to say, you usually do it with a bit of respect. There are others on the board that certainly have no respect for religion. They claim to be open-minded, but they don't realize that they are only open-minded to the people that believe the way they do.

Wow, actually seeing two people on these forums just come to terms on something calms me down too!

Thanks to both of you, we need people who can really learn to accept each others differences and respect them as a person.

We all get hotheaded on here sometimes, some of my posts in the past haven't been very friendly. Keeping a cool head and being correctable has shown that you have wisdom. Keep up the good fight, UNITED WE STAND!!!!!!
 
Reconcile what? I would like evidence for every part of the bible. Delete the parts without any evidence and see what you're left with.
 
What the hell is there to reconcile? Libertarianism is about not initiating force. Religion is a personal belief about how one lives one's life. So long as his religion doesn't include him forcing me to do something, there's no conflict
