Recognize, The Average American: Misinformed or Uninformed?

A lot of discussion on this forum is based on a belief that most Americans are stuck in the socialist, conservative, left-right paradigm. After reading about Obama's speech today, it is pretty apparent that the federal government is just one big circus. It's an obvious conclusion to most people that still have a spec of common sense.

I've come to the realization that most Americans are not misinformed. They are simply uninformed, as in, they just don't give a fuck. A larger percentage of Americans can tell you more items on the McDonald's $1.00 menu than they can the members of Obama's administration and key members of congress and the senate. It's a joke. Have a conversation about economics, foreign policy, or politics in general with the average American and they will have no clue what you're talking about. All they care about is Dancing with the Stars, celebrity gossip, shopping for the latest gadgets, sports, going out to bars and nightclubs, and talking about dumb shit that absolutely nobody cares about.

It's not about changing beliefs. The bigger step to advancing liberty is getting people to simply engage the system that surrounds them intellectually.

America is doomed.

TV and TV advertising - people just care about getting their share of stuff and having their basic needs met. Other than that they can't be bothered.

The victory of materialism. Now if we wanted to get people involved we would come up with something pithy like "Those who value their big screen TV's more than liberty will end up with neither liberty or big screens". We would have a ten-fold growth in the liberty movement in a week.

Here's the thing though. It's not that people are either uninformed or misinformed, it's that their entire way of looking at the world is backwards. It does not matter how much information you provide them with, nor how much misinformation you try to swat down.

It is as if everyone is viewing the world through a mirror. They may be able to reach for objects, ideas, etc., but that's where it all breaks down. And the more directions you provide, the more text you leave them with to translate in reverse.

My Dad's exact words were "Stop worrying about all of this stuff and just live your life. Everything is going to be OK."

Misinformed by the same people that print our money, run our government (The Entire World ) and report the faction based and biased editorial that passes for news by our modern day main stream media.
Uninformed for lack of a reason to care or know the difference between truth and lies. This is changing rapidly but not nearly fast enough to save us from what we got coming.

This is how I answer: "I can't change it because of motherfuckers like YOU!!!"

Actually, I don't say that, I just think it in my head. I get angry a lot. I almost spontaneously combusted during the 2008 presidential election when I heard my liberal coworkers say, "I love how Obama wants to bring real change to this country." You retards!!! But of course, that's a case of people being misinformed not uninformed. Both piss me off though.
