*Updated (RP HQ article)*
In order to get some things straight we may need to go through this. Im not saying I'm in the know, this is just what I've seen....
The story so far:
Yahoo posts this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071227/ap_po/on_the2008_trail_7 on Thursday evening.
The ap makes this http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iNxTApa2sQRu0Xx99P3jt2bEXw7gD8TQ2N282 report regarding the forum event, the attendees, and quotes from NH GOP on Thursday as well. (Which came first? Yahoo or AP?).
Union Leader posts this: http://www.unionleader.com/article....rticleId=141a7c52-a168-4f70-9497-8230e7309e9e But this only hints at the Jan 6th event, and confuses things a bit by also mentioning another forum occuring on the 6th at a brunch event. However this would seam to corroberate as at least a second source, some of the information in the AP report.
A couple of blogs pick it up (lost the links), Chris Brunner at Lewrockwell.com picks up on the story.
Jane Aitken from dailypaul.com OPPOSES any action, posts a cease and desist blog article, and urges FULL STOP until she said she could confirm with NH GOP and RP HQ.
Chris retracted the story on LRC after conversing with Jane via email. (Which ended up being unnecessary, her claims were based on an invite she said she had but did not actually exist -Brunner)
Jane and others (Chris Brunner LRC editor, and posters here claiming to be incontact with HQ) then get official word that RP has not been invited to such an event. Apparently according to those same people, RP HQ has been in contact with NH GOP and they report that NH GOP is working to get RP included, hence all the "OFFICIAL: DO NOT CALL NH GOP" threads and blog posts regarding this.
RP HQ releases this: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/press-releases/94/has-fox-news-excluded-ron-paul
dailypaul, LRC, and others put out the story.
Epic Thread ensues. http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=67218&highlight=%2Fberserk
Chris Brunner and others apparently close to the campaign post on ronpaulforums (see first sticky and other older threads) regarding the situation and Chris puts out his account of events HERE: http://www.chrisbrunner.com/2007/12...ul-is-being-excluded-from-the-fox-news-debate.
Boston.com publishes RP quote: http://www.boston.com/news/local/politics/primarysource/2007/12/paul_fox_news_i.html
The Seattle PI picks up on the AP report: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/345194_gop28.html
Baltimore Sun picks up the whole story to this point: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2007/12/ron_paul_outfoxed.html
Linked info is confirmed as incorrect!A nolanchart blog seems to (wrongly) refute the current story (based on an outdated UL article that was incorrect in the first place -Brunner). http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html But the blog is considered unreliable and the source of information outdated by 3 WEEKS!
Linked info is confirmed as incorrect!WND Posts this http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59442 article, seemingly based on the same info as the nolanchart blog
This post by Jane Aitken seems to further confirm the RP exclusion story indirectly.... http://www.dailypaul.com/node/18338
Blog post by Kent Snyder summing up the situation: http://ronpaul2008.typepad.com/ron_paul_2008/2007/12/30/index.html
Linked info is confirmed as incorrect!Prison Planet is well behind the curve and picks up the false report on nolanchart: http://prisonplanet.com/articles/december2007/301207_debate.htm
Chicago Tribune, (Washington): http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/12/ron_paul_indeed_outfoxed_for_n.html

RP HQ Blog by Kent Snyder: http://ronpaul2008.typepad.com/ron_paul_2008/2007/12/has-fox-news--2.html
Confirmation sources for this story so far:
1) The Associated Press (Dec 27th wire)
2) NH Union Leader (Dec 27th, quoting Giuliani campaign)
3) Baltimore Sun (Dec 29th, quoting NH GOP official)
3) NH GOP (via telephone)
4) Fox News (via telephone)
5) RP campaign (several sources in and close to the campaign)
6) RP Campaign Chairman Kent Snyder's own blog
7) Chicago Tribune
8) Fox TV Affiliate
9) CNN
Another excellent post summing up the story so far: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=68488
Some words from some who are in the know:
(if you were looking for names, here you go)....
Now, I still see some people questioning this whole situation (at this point im not sure why), so, ok I'll bite. Lets think for a minute. What would be needed in order for this whole story to be a ruse.
Either:
a) A false report by AP and Yahoo falsley quoting NH GOP chairman
OR
b) A deliberate lie by NH GOP chairman accurately reported by the AP and Yahoo.
If a is true, then i would expect an EXTREMELY hasty retraction from AP and/or Yahoo, or if they are complicit, they deserve the fallout IMO.
If b is true, then all hell is going to break loose.
c)If either a or b are true, the campaign HQ was incompetant and reckless with its press release.
But also keep in mind the work of Jane, Chris, and others who reported that the NH GOP was working with RP HQ, and that they had confirmed this with RP HQ.
THEREFORE if a or b is true, and c is true, then Jane Aitken, Chris Brunner, and Lew Rockwell.com (as well as jblosser, menthol_patch, and brunner on this site) are all double agents misrepresenting the situation to RP HQ and duping them into releasing the press release and RP interview.
(At this point consensus is that this is correct occurence of events. Post errors and I will edit to reflect. Also im trying to track down links to original early blogs and news pages. Also if there is interest I will edit to reflect subsequent stories and developments seen here on the forums)
Thanks to brunner

Some words from some who are in the know:
The campaign issued a press release:
http://www.ronpaul2008.com/press-releases/94/has-fox-news-excluded-ron-paul
Paul himself commented on it:
http://www.boston.com/news/local/politics/primarysource/2007/12/paul_fox_news_i.html
(if you were looking for names, here you go)....
Alright the family chased stuff down for us and called me back. Carol Paul was in the room and helping to clarify what they know.
They talked to Jesse Benton who confirms that Jared Chicoine, the official campaign's NH coordinator, spoke to the NH GOP as recently as last evening and the word the official campaign is still getting from the NH GOP is that:
1) There is a NH forum on the 6th
2) Fox controls who is going to be invited
3) Other candidates have been invited, but Ron Paul has not been and will not be
There are still reportedly "games being played" and details may not all be final and this is the reason we don't have this thing listed anywhere concretely. But our campaign IS getting their info verified before they announce it, and they are definitely being told by the NH GOP that this is the situation. People suspect Fox is playing a game here to make the campaign look bad but so far think the NH GOP is helping us and not hurting us.
MOVING ON, the campaign is not currently planning any kind of counter rally, though they are working on something which I will call "bigger" but can't talk about yet. However, people should not plan to fly to NH just to attend a counter rally; Jesse's phrase was "spend your money smarter ways". That having been said they confirm they definitely need more boots on the ground in NH and if you have the time and money to get there and help campaign, DO IT.
Now, I still see some people questioning this whole situation (at this point im not sure why), so, ok I'll bite. Lets think for a minute. What would be needed in order for this whole story to be a ruse.
