Rand's Statement on Obamacare Ruling

Multiple Choice Question: Who do you think would be more likely to repeal Obamacare?
a)Barack Obama
b) Mitt Romney
Hmmm, that doesn't seem like a "mulitple" choice question to me.

They're almost the same candidate.

Yeah, I agree.

I don't know what to wish for anymore. Both options stink.

I suppose it just means we need to keep our noses to the grindstone and work even harder to get our guys in position in the GOP leadership and our candidates elected. It's not a quick fix, but just like the tortoise, it is a strategy that will win in the end.

Agree mostly. My family and I will voteRepublicans all throughout the ballot from President to Sheriff...but we will work harder for liberty-candidates like Thomas Massie, Kerry Bentivolio, Justin Amash, Kurt Bills, Richard Mourdock, and others to send them to congress this election!

Cut the Chief Justice some slack...he at least ruled that the individual mandate was a tax (even though President Obama said it wasn't). Think what a great message that it will be for us: The so-called President Barack "I love the Middle Class" Obama imposed one of the largest taxes in history!

Neither. A vote for Romney ruins Rand's chance to run in 2016. Think ahead here.

You must have not read on. I am thinking ahead. I am thinking about whether there will still be such a thing as an election in 2016 in this country.

"I had my liberty stripped in an unprecedented manner and all I got was this lousy talking point!"

Ok. How do you prove that something is un constitutional if the constitution is a text which like all texts requires interpretation?

I won't argue with you too much today as I understand some are feeling sad, angry, tired and pessimistic today. I'm actually feeling more energized today than ever. I can't wait until November 6, 2012!

They say the dollar will go KAPUT in 2015.

"I had my liberty stripped in an unprecedented manner and all I got was this lousy talking point!"

Really? Lousy talking point? I actually think it is a pretty good talking point for this election. President Obama claims over and over again that he is a leader for the middle class...until he now raises their taxes. How is he going to defend that?

Look, I'm not happy with the court's decision, and I don't agree with it. But I have decided that I have two options: 1) I can moan, groan, and stomp my feet (its not going to change a thing) or 2) I can be energized and ready to go for this November 2012! Each of us must make a choice...I've chosen the second one.

Go Mitt Romney!

No, what I was getting at is that this is a small consolation. Yeah, politically, it may benefit the Republican party, but morally and legally, we have just taken a huge leap towards tyranny. It makes it a little hard to enjoy any political advantage.

I understand completely. Compared to what I had hoped would have been done today, this small consolation is almost nothing. I had hoped the courts would see the wisdom in striking down the entire law. Maybe...just maybe this lemon will turn into lemonade in November! :)

I thought he meant Ron Paul!

LOL. You don't know how badly I wish that was a possibility. :(

Edit: And I'm not discounting the possibility that Rand secretly hopes Ron might somehow become president. I just don't see the possibility of it actually happening. I do wish much luck to those who plan some kind of convention floor fight.

Let me get this straight. You honestly believe that the same people who would have voted for Obama because they liked the healthcare mandate will turn around and say "OMG! It's a tax! Obama lied and I'm gonna vote for Mitt Romney!" Seriously, that's your argument? That's your great hope? And that's why you're voting for the guy that bragged that Obamacare was basically his plan?

Multiple Choice Question: Who do you think would be more likely to repeal Obamacare?
a)Barack Obama
b) Mitt Romney

That's a trick question right? Because the answer is "none of the above". Mitt Romney implemented Obamacare in Massachussetts, and Obamacare is the republican sponsored alternative to Hillarycare. Look it up. The "conservative" Kato institute was all for mandates back in the 90s. But even if Romney was against what he clearly isn't against, repealing Obamacare will require a fillibuster proof majority in the senate. So regardless of whether Obama wins or Romney wins there won't be enough votes in the senate to repeal it.

I'll be supporting Mitt Romney this November even though I'm not completely confident in him. He is better than four more years of President Obama. I know some will disagree, but I don't want President Obama for another four years. Some say that we can wait until 2016...by 2016, we may not have elections anymore. President Obama may declare dictatorship or monarchy by that time.

So instead of being able to get rid of the half white Obama by 2016 you'll have us stuck with the white mormon Obama until 2020. Okay.

To be fair, remember that there are still four justices: Alito (also a Bush appointee), Scalia (a Reagan appointee), Thomas (a Bush Sr. appointee), and Kennedy (a Reagan appointee) all dissented from the ruling. Just think what would happen if there were 2 more Alitos, Scalias, Thomases, or Kennedies on the court today...

Well in the "strip search Americans for no reason" case all the justices you are championing voted for tyranny. So why would you want more of them on the court? It would be one thing if you could definitely count on them to stand up against socialism. But Justice Roberts proved you can't even count on them for that.

Fighting Words. Rand better step into this power vacuum. This type of leadership can carry him to the presidency. When opportunity presents itself like this, you better grab it. Rand needs to be face of anti-government.

Agreed...do it, Rand.
