Rand will make the debate

Santorum and Huckabee should really just drop out. They haven't moved in the polls at all and clearly have no chance at all of winning anything.

Clearly voters do not want 2012 losers

I think Rand needs them, Huckabee and Santorum, in Iowa to split the Evangelical vote from Cruz and Trump. Don't be surprised if one or both of them get more than 10% in Iowa.

Exactly. Neither of them have a chance of winning, and neither of them are siphoning votes from Rand, so it's good for them to remain.

Gilmore has also dropped out.

Do you have a link showing that? I haven't heard that yet. It is true that his polling is so near-zero that he hasn't made even the recent undercard debates. Although he is the only candidate that didn't make the Virginia ballot, neither his campaign website or the Wikipedia article on him reflects that Gilmore has officially dropped out. My guess is that he will maintain a minimally-funded, minimally-active campaign in the hopes that there is a contested convention and that after several ballots without a winner, that he can arise as a compromise nominee.

At the same time, they are keeping the undercard debate in play, which hurts rand if he isn't in the main debate

Kasich is going to make the debate based on is NH numbers. The funny thing is Rand's numbers are at least consistent. There are only going to be 4 people I predict going to SC anyways. Trump, Cruz, one of Rubio/Christie/Jeb!/Kasich, and Paul. 5 at the most.

Is it just me, or does anyone else on this forum want to punch Kasich and Jeb in the face. They both remind me of the school yard punk, bullies, who would always throw the ball in your face, just because they were rich kids who owned the world.

They remind me of the crazy close-talkers at the bar that "used to be somebody" and have all sorts of unbelievable stories about themselves to back it up.

No, not at all. Kasich's always seemed like a pretty nice guy to me. And he doesn't come from a wealthy background.

I liked Kasich a lot until he went full stupid on Medicaid expansion and wanting to institute a no-fly zone in Syria and shoot down Russian planes. He's my governor and from a town about an hour down the road in PA. It's a shame because with our state government he should have governed like the full-bore conservative he campaigned as in 2010. And when he talks about his dominating reelection, remember that his opponent didn't have a valid driver's license. Trump would have killed him, too.

Someone give it to us straight. In or Out?

Announcement is made tonight by Fox.

Rand made it last time by a late poll, the rules were not bent for him. However, it looks like only way he gets in is if Fox is very selective in their poll selection or they make am exception for him.

The rules were 100% bent for him in the CNN debate. CNN was very transparent on how exactly they were going to calculate it so it was obvious he came short.

I'm not sure that is true. If you replaced CNN's oldest poll with their latest one, Rand was in according to the rules. The rules didn't specify what they would do in that scenario (2 polls from the same pollster).

No I think THAT would be trump Kasich and Jed aren't even competing in that league.

No, a poll was released the day they made their announcement and I believe they may have used rounding. It was not a case of him blatantly not qualifying mathematically, which may be the case this time around.
