Rand Paul's Statement on Syria 8/28/13

I think the point is that if we DID follow that approach, then we WOULDN'T be involved.

Unless of course some false flag event occurs on American soil and is blamed on the Syrian regime. Then the odds are that we would be involved, just like we were involved in invading Afghanistan and Iraq despite no real evidence that they had anything to do with the events of 9/11.

Yeah, because it worked so well for Ron Paul...

I'd say it did. There would be no Rand Paul in the Senate if Ron hadn't been who he was. These forums wouldn't exist, and hundreds of thousands of young people may not have been exposed to a philosophical approach to opposing the state.

it just hit me that rand may have this as a strategy
don't take this the wrong way, but I thought all of that was obvious some time ago.

yes but i meant the timing of this thing,

in regards to this particular instance when people wonder why he didn't come out on day one, day two, but instead day 3. i'm saying he purposely waited for the hot heads to cool and for msm's convulsing body images to start getting old before he opposes involvement for 'humanitarian reasons'

It's wonderful to know there are professional political strategists on this forum who know exactly what Rand should be doing. :)

Maybe I am different, because I have believed this way since childhood. The biggest thing the Ron Paul movement did for me was to show me that I wasn't alone in believing in the strict construction of the Constitution, and in American liberty.

You're being sarcastic, but I actually am a professional political strategist. I don't claim to know exactly what Rand should be doing, but it's not hard to figure out that some ideas are definitely good and others are definitely bad.

It's a good statement. He's not done with the issue. What do you want him to do, run around waving his hands in the air and screaming like a lunatic?

Nothing quite so libertarian as that.

well some people don't seem to realize there's just as much going on inside the heads of everything and everyone else around them, if not more, and it's not just their own sophisticated selves

just pointing that out makes me look like a smartass sometimes, so you can tell the level of discourse
