Rand Paul vs Bernie Sanders debate !

Bernie has zero reason to do this and risk sure censure from the DNC. Bernie is polling 50/50 with the Clintons in the first two states, he is viable there at least. Rand is polling low single digits, big difference.

Reality creeps in for Rand supporters. Bernie is too big for Rand Paul. He raised 30 millions last quarter, more than any candidates running on both sides. Why would he talk to some sideline candidate like Rand? I hope Rand learned a lesson.
That's bullshit, Rand would wipe the floor with Sanders.

I'm sure he would. But Bernie wouldn't be so stupid as to give Rand free press. Bernie is portrayed as some disregarded lunatic by the established left, but that ship is turning around.

It's been bough up elsewhere that Rand should go on a hunger strike to protest Fox's exclusion. That would be funny.

Berine wants debates! He wants as much attention as he can get because he's certainly not going to get it from Hilary..

People have been talking about this for months. Bernie is not going to debate Rand.

fuck that...why give that commie bastard any more face time then he deserves...

1) Because it's Rand's candidacy I care about not Bernie's.
2) Because I would just as soon see Bernie get the Dem nomination as anyone else.
3) Because the best way to counter communism is not by keeping it in the dark, but by shining a light on it.

Doesn't matter, he won't do it now and that's what matters. Even if he personally wanted to do it (and I'm not convinced he would), no way his advisers let him.

Even if they did, wouldn't matter. The DNC and the RNC would not allow it, and would blackball both of them for doing it in the first place.

If the election is Trump vs Sanders, Trump vs Clinton, Rubio vs Clinton. Hope Rand Paul wins the Nomination!

Bernie will not do it. This is deluded thinking and it must stop.

Say this pie-in-the-sky debate actually happened... WHICH IT WON'T. Then Bernie would promise more goodies, attract more supporters, and maybe, just maybe, beat Hillary, possibly setting us up for Bernie-Trump, which would be the worst of all possible worlds.

This idea reeks of desperation.

Lots of naysaying in this thread quick, I notice. Because God forbid a good idea could go an hour before someone hollers, 'It won't work!!'

For those who say Bernie won't do it.. I repeat HE PROPOSED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE

Watch this video:

Thank you.

People have been talking about this for months. Bernie is not going to debate Rand.

He doesn't want to. But he proposed it in the first place. That makes it a challenge for him to turn it down.

Then there's this: As someone suggested in a thread some time ago, which also got shouted down by the naysayers who are dedicated to ensuring that no good idea gets heard, there's another way to shame Bernie into doing it. Bernie is allegedly concerned with the plight of the poor.

If you want this to happen, people, then set up a charity moneybomb in which the donations are contingent on this happening--and if it doesn't happen, no one's payment goes through to the charity. Just like that. You really love the poor, Bernie? Then you had better do this thing.

Just like that. It could begin today.

Even if they did, wouldn't matter. The DNC and the RNC would not allow it, and would blackball both of them for doing it in the first place.

A month before Iowa? Funny. Let 'em. Let 'em be that obvious about the fact that they do everything they can think of to eliminate votes for honest candidates and control the entire narrative. Let them pull the curtain back themselves, the way Toto did in The Wizard of Oz. Let them shoot themselves in the foot.

More to the point, tempt them to shoot themselves in the foot. Help them shoot themselves in the foot. A double blackball at this auspicious moment after the distraction of Christmas and during the lead up to Iowa would do more for the liberty movement than the LP has ever done in its forty-five year existence.

A charity moneybomb contingent on this debate happening. If we want to win, we'll do it. You know you want to hold Bernard Sanders' feet to the fire. You know you want to.

I don't understand why people are wasting their energy talking about this. This is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! It's just not.

The only thing that could keep the charitable moneybomb from happening is us listening to the naysayers. That part is ENTIRELY up to us. If we make up our minds to do it, we CANNOT be stopped.

If the charitable moneybomb happens, then one of two things will happen: Sanders will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he cares about playing the politics game more than he cares about the poor. Or the debate will happen. There's no third way. At all. Any blackball talk will just add fuel to the fire--the fire to which we're holding Sanders' feet.

Either way, our cause is advanced a thousand miles.

Please, tell us again how this is a waste of time and energy. Go ahead...

Bernie Sanders has absolutely no reason to do this. He won't gain anything by doing this, and he will not be allowed to do this by the DNC. Did you not see how he refused to go after Clinton over the emails? There's a reason for this. Sanders will not do something to help the one candidate that Clinton is afraid to face in the general.

NBC will absolutely not do this! You think anyone in the media is going to help Rand get exposure? This is fantasy stuff.

Sanders will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he cares about playing the politics game more than he cares about the poor

So? He still won't do it, and who are you proving this to? Who will care? Do you think you can force someone to participate in a debate because of this? Didn't Tom Woods try this with Krugman once? You're not gonna get someone to participate this way and no one will care when he refuses. He'll just say Rand is beneath him. His supporters will laugh, and that'll be the end of it.

He has lots of reasons to do it. Your point about the DNC might be the one reason not to. Is it definitely true though?

All right mister expert. Why don't you take a break and stop wasting everybody's time? Will see you tomorrow, OK? ;)

Bernie Sanders has absolutely no reason to do this.

Except that it will help the poor. And he's the one who originally offered to do it.

He won't gain anything by doing this, and he will not be allowed to do this by the DNC.

The idea is not to give him something to gain by doing this, but rather to give him something to lose by not doing it. And if the DNC forcibly blocks something that would benefit the poor, good. We can point out how they showed their true colors.

Did you not see how he refused to go after Clinton over the emails? There's a reason for this. Sanders will not do something to help the one candidate that Clinton is afraid to face in the general.

Exactly. That's the beauty of it. By refusing, even though doing it would help the poor, Sanders not only admits he's more concerned with playing politics than helping the poor, but admits that Rand Paul is, indeed, the one candidate who can beat that bitch.

NBC will absolutely not do this!

Of course not! Who cares? This is the age of the Internet! More people watch YouTube in any given day than watch NBC! Welcome to the twenty-first century!

Krugman wasn't running for office. And whether Sanders' refusal will be the end of it or not depends entirely on whether we make hay while the sun shines, or listen to the naysayers when they tell us to roll over and say, 'Please sir may I have some more?' Because we can publicize it and spin it. We've done that before, and we can do it again.

Is that what you want us to do instead? Roll over on our tummies and say, 'Please sir may I have some more?'
