Bernie will not do it. This is deluded thinking and it must stop.
Say this pie-in-the-sky debate actually happened... WHICH IT WON'T. Then Bernie would promise more goodies, attract more supporters, and maybe, just maybe, beat Hillary, possibly setting us up for Bernie-Trump, which would be the worst of all possible worlds.
This idea reeks of desperation.
Lots of naysaying in this thread quick, I notice. Because God forbid a good idea could go an hour before someone hollers, 'It won't work!!'
For those who say Bernie won't do it.. I repeat HE PROPOSED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
Watch this video:
Thank you.
People have been talking about this for months. Bernie is not going to debate Rand.
He doesn't want to. But he proposed it in the first place. That makes it a challenge for him to turn it down.
Then there's this: As someone suggested in a thread some time ago, which also got shouted down by the naysayers who are dedicated to ensuring that no good idea gets heard, there's another way to shame Bernie into doing it. Bernie is allegedly concerned with the plight of the poor.
If you want this to happen, people, then set up a charity moneybomb in which the donations are contingent on this happening--and if it doesn't happen, no one's payment goes through to the charity. Just like that. You really love the poor, Bernie? Then you had better do this thing.
Just like that. It could begin today.
Even if they did, wouldn't matter. The DNC and the RNC would not allow it, and would blackball both of them for doing it in the first place.
A month before Iowa? Funny. Let 'em. Let 'em be that obvious about the fact that they do everything they can think of to eliminate votes for honest candidates and control the entire narrative. Let them pull the curtain back themselves, the way Toto did in
The Wizard of Oz. Let them shoot themselves in the foot.
More to the point, tempt them to shoot themselves in the foot. Help them shoot themselves in the foot. A double blackball at this auspicious moment after the distraction of Christmas and during the lead up to Iowa would do more for the liberty movement than the LP has ever done in its forty-five year existence.
A charity moneybomb contingent on this debate happening. If we want to win, we'll do it. You know you want to hold Bernard Sanders' feet to the fire. You know you want to.
