Rand Paul Says He Won’t Participate In Undercard Debate

They are not out of their minds... they know exactly what they are doing. Rand knows this better than any of us. That is why he's a threat to them, and they want him out.

I'm talking about the Trumpkins and the people randomly choosing candidates du jour. This has been the growing problem of the Republican Party. Every four years, unelectable snake oil salesmen come around and bamboozle the ignorant Republican electorate. This time, it might be the death of the party.

I think he means the electorate who identify themselves as GOP have gone out of their minds.

This is an interesting approach. There have been at least 9 candidates on stage every debate (except Fox Business last debate with 8), so 3 candidates are potentially getting the boot here. Preempting this and taking a lead position to stand firm against the purposeful shrinkage of the debate stage will give Fiorina, Bush, or Kasich a reason to join Rand in refusing the undercard debate and not appear "whiny" doing so.

In fact, I might argue it even forces the other 2 candidates to have to follow suit, because then its a tacit acknowledgement their campaigns are second-tier by participating and submitting to the media. All Paul would need is 1 of them to join him and the other will likely have to follow. Once he's not alone in doing so, whatever narrative might have developed would immediately be flipped on its head and Paul might create a scenario that he helps keep the stage full at 9.

That would be some good press and maybe build a small surge of 2nd choice voters toward Rand from those who support candidates who might have been downgraded to the undercard.

I like it, even though I feel the undercard wouldn't be terrible.

Agreed: The nomination of Trump catalyzes the end of the party and the rise of two new 100% statist parties in its place.

Cruz is definitely the best second choice, and I don't understand the irrational hatred of Cruz here. Just because he's doing better than Rand at the game now doesn't mean he's the scum of the earth.

This is the Rand forum. There is no second choice.

The fucking one party bullshit system in this country has got to go.

The GOP clearly does NOT want us. I don't want them. Yet, we're stuck together, ball and chain.

Us? I'll take any of the GOP candidates except Trump instead of the Clintons.

Anybody but Trump.

Yes.

This is the Rand forum. There is no second choice.

In the primary, yes nobody but Paul. General I will go with any of them except Trump. I REALLY hate the Clintons.

I like this move from Rand and didn't expect anything less. He's probably not going to win, but I like the cut of his jib.

The way I look at it is I don't see Rand as someone who is running in order to gain power. Therefore there is a reason why Rand is running against Cruz otherwise he would endorse him not attack his integrity and honesty.

I like this idea that Rand is trying to loosen the Trump media frenzy and try to bring some long needed common sense into this race!

If Rand is not on my ballot, I will write him in.

As opposed to the rest of us who ADORE the Clintons?

Just to be clear, you would check the box next to Marco Rubio's name, if he was the Republican nominee going up against Clinton?

Well, Ron Paul endorsed cruz when he first ran for the Senate. A very good argument can be made that cruz would never have been elected if it hadn't been for Ron Paul. Now, the only reason cruz is running for President is to split off votes from Rand. I'd say stabbing the Paul family and their supporters in the back like that is a pretty scum of the earth thing to do, right there. His wife is from goldmember sacks. I haven't seen this verified, but he's probably skull and bones, and cfr. In at least one of the debates, his closing statement included the phrase "new American century". Where might you have possibly heard that particular phrase before? This is all but an explicit admission that he's a globalist neocon shill, hiding behind the guise of a Constitutionalist. That said, it's sad to say that he does seemingly represent the best second choice, based on his voting record in the Senate. But his other actions and words speak just as loudly, and I'm not so sure that I could ever give my vote to this guy.

Rubio is the "new American century" guy, though Rubio, Cruz, Clinton all had the same FP consulting firm.

The rube was the one who said that? You sure? I could have sworn it was cruz! If you're right, then I stand corrected, I was just going off the top of my head.

That consulting team is called the Council on Foreign Relations and it's more than just those three. Nice propaganda attempt to narrow the "CFR" field down to a few while ignoring the others, though. There's no Zippy-esque copy pasta on the NFL you can focus more on?

Damn. How much more blatant could it be? Any why hasn't Rand or any of the other candidates called this out yet?
Thanks for the correction! I'm out of rep here, can someone please cover CPUd for me?

That article was posted elsewhere a few days ago, and I don't remember it mentioning any more candidates than those three either. Doubtless there are more cfr-backed candidates! CPUd didn't write that article, if it was a propaganda attempt, it wasn't him.

edit: Damn, looks like I'm out of rep for you as well.

Can you ELI5 the video? Hillary is pretty scary to me but only because she doesn't seem human, but I don't pretend to think she'd let something like that slip. It Sounded like she was just saying that group tells her everything she does wrong(criticizes her for everything) but she was trying to do it in a human/endearing anecdote but failed because she doesn't fit the requirements. Whoever Does this seasons HIllary on SNL does the perfect Hillary bot.
