Rand Paul on Glenn Thur 5:15pm

Beck didn't have all these "strangeideas" clips to play last time.

Every interview he does it a knife in the back interview. He's an entertainer. Another scalp would only ad to his fame.

Maybe we can make a brooch instead of a lapel pin of Gadsden Flag for Sarah when she's here.

There's a huge distinction between the case of the Texas primary and this... Perry had already captured a huge chunk of tea party support by talking about the 10th Amendment and secession... that put him to the far right in Beck's mind, and made Medina suspect.

In KY, the establishment, Kay Bailout and the like, are all behind Grayson, and Palin and the conservatives are behind Rand, so Beck has less incentive. Moreover, Rand isn't a dumbass who will shoot himself in the face with an answer, so he doesn't have anything to worry about in those clips.

That's a cardboard cut out from CPAC 2010.
Nope. It was from CFL in St Louis 2009 about a year ago. And there is no cardboard cut-out of me that I know of (but I wouldn't be surprised if someone has made one by now due to increased demand). ;)

No, I swear that's a Matt Collins Cardboard cut out. They sell them at "Uptown Cigar and Pipe" in Green Hills.

Seeker, we've had this conversation before, you need to take your blinders off. Medina sunk herself with her non-definative answer. Beck didn't ambush her with that question... it's not an ambush question, it's a yes or no question. Like, "do you think the federal government killed JFK?" Medina's answer was extremely foolish to say the least.:rolleyes:

Question: What does believing in 9/11 one way or the other have to do with governing the state of Texas? The question was irrelevant.

Journalists ask irrelevant questions all the time, unfortunately. So if you want to win, you have to be prepared for them.

We agree on Alex Jones. Palin harms herself if she harms Rand, and harms any credibility she might have had in the tea party movement, so she won't do that... As for Beck, all one needs to do with him is understand his hot-button issues, and be direct. Rand has nothing to fear from Beck, and everything to gain from Palin coming to campaign for him.

IMO, Rand has nothing to gain from Beck and everything to lose. He should leave sleeping dogs lie while he is still ahead in the race.

BTW: I gave the same advice to those writing (bugging) Glenn Beck to get Medina on his show. We know the outcome of that encounter -- it was a disaster for Debra.

THANK YOU!

Any exposure is good, it is up to the candidate to stay calm and be trained. THIS IS POLITICS, get used to it.

No more avoiding debates.

I never knew we had so many cowards. I think Rand is smart enough to handle an interview. Remember, Rand is much more polished and less mistake prone than Medina.

Coward? Why would you go to a gun fight if the other guy is the only one with a gun? Beck owns the answers by the questions he plans to ask before the guest gets on the show.

Like I said, Stockholm Syndrome. You identify with your captors for some odd reason. Why are you STILL giving Beck the benefit of the doubt? He called YOU a terrorist, remember? He called Ron Paul the "Mayor of Crazy Town". There's more too.
Yet you're still blaming Medina for not expecting a heavily loaded question from Beck about "9/11 Truthers" during a state race that had nothing to do with the federal government.

(Oh wait, I notice both you and BamaFan's very recent join dates. Were you involved with the movement back during RP's candidacy? If not then maybe you're not aware of Beck's long history of shenanigans and I can't fault you for that, but you need to look at the big picture and learn the history.)

You make some good points. If I had an agenda and wanted to sabotage a candidate I would urge them to go on all of the talk shows. The odds of getting trashed goes up every time they go on one of those shows. If Rand is a gambler and cannot resist the temptation then so be it -- if he gets slammed then he deserves it. No tears from me. :)

Medina did herself in with her foolish response. She is too pure for politics. It's a contact sport, and one must always be ready for any question, especially when running for office.

She could've answered better, yes. However, and that is a HUGE however, most any answer can be made to look bad if the host cuts off the interviewee's mic and talks over them with condescending bullshit.

I'm just sayin'....

Medina did a damn fine job in her campaign.

I have a feeling Beck will be extremely good to Rand. It seems like Rand is (don't kick me out of the forums for saying it) very alligned with Beck.

I just hope it has a positive impact on the campaign. That's all that really matters.
