I was listening to the GB show while driving and they began to talk about potential nominees on both sides and the subject of Rand Paul came up. Immediately Glenn started off with, "I don't know who Rand is." The discussion went on to say that Rand watched his father stand on principle and lose over and over, so the fact that Rand is "doing what it takes" to potentially win the office could be considered 'smart politics' but concluded that "I would rather stand on principle and lose everytime than do what Rand is doing." Glenn's cohorts also said they would never vote for Rand since he endorsed McConnell over Bevin, which they considered to be a serious 'crossing of the line' and they too didn't really know where he stood on many issues. They stated Rand takes a stand on easy issues to oppose like Drones, but won't take a stand on others issues because it's too politically fraught with danger. They all concluded that they would vote for Rand over hillary, but reluctantly. They said they wanted Rand to be bolder and more principled, like his father....

I don't have the tube, so feel free to add if you find it.

This, once again, is what many including myself have been saying for quite a while now. Rand has in image problem that needs to be addressed.

Make up your minds assholes, Ron can't win so he's not a good candidate but rand can and he's also not a good candidate??

Fail.. I'm sure heck will go with Ted Cruz or some bullshit like that.. All beck cares about is israel

They just don't like small government and are trying to sound tea partyish about it. Glenn Beck was a total bitch to Ron who stood on principal and he's a total bitch to Rand who's in it to win it.

Yeah, and nothing Rand does will make Glenn Beck consistently support him. While getting Becks audience to support Rand would be good (and a number of them already do) Glenn will always pick on a Paul for being either too establishment, or too fringey and kooky.

I think Randal's red dot says it all about where he stands:

I think Randal's red dot says it all about where he stands:
EXACTLY!

That chart puts into imagery what I have been screaming since day one: action and rhetoric are not the same thing. Those of us who can think have figured that out, but some people have yet to get the memo.

People who oppose Rand because they don't think he is "conservative enough" need to see that chart.

I always forget, is it Pat or Stu that is the neoconservative plant?

If they gave their true opinion, they would say they prefer Lindsey Graham over all of the other candidates.

Beck is an idiot. What's his target audience anymore? Conservatives seemed to have abandoned him after his promotion of illegal immigrants a few months ago.

After all that you just said, this is the conclusion you draw?

It seems like every post of yours I read has some sort of insult in it. So let me return the favor.

Congratulations on figuring out your opening chess move. Maybe some day you'll get to the point of thinking about your middle game.

I doubt you'll ever recognize that some of us have moved on to Go.

Well it did not take him long to show his true colors. I don't want to hear anyone here talking about he is coming around to our side.

Why is his blue dot so far to the left of his red dot?

Because he makes a lot of public statements looking for middle ground that both the "left" and "right" can agree upon. But since the senate is so extremely authoritarian and refuses to compromise in his direction he only has opportunities to vote hard right.
