Rand Paul Is the GOP's Early Presidential Front-Runner

To paraphrase Mrs. Clinton, what difference would it make (to them)? Clinton, Cruz, Rubio, Allen West....all give foreign policy hawks what they're looking for.

Bingo. The people are fooled into thinking the parties and personalities matter but those in the military-industrial complex like the contractors are just looking for the money- they don't care if it is a Republican or Democrat delivering it.

I think you know the real reasons for that. First to stop the Clinton money machine so Hillary doesn't have a huge warchest.

I seriously doubt that Rand criticizing Bill Clinton is somehow going to stop him from raising money for Hillary and the Democrats.

It can. If the Democrats are using the old "war on women" line and trotting Bill out to events, Rand pointing out what Bill has done to women will keep the big donors from tying themselves to the Clintons.

Drudge can really make or break you in the republican primary. I'm happy for the positive coverage now, but if Drudge favors another candidate and wants to take you out it can get real ugly. Really hope Rand stays favored cause Drudge is very powerful

No it wont. Hypocrisy has never prevented big donors from doing so in the past - especially when so much power & influence is in the offing. Why should we expect it to start doing so now?

The people who are gong to care the most about "big donors ... tying themselves to the Clintons" because of "what Bill has done to women" are Clinton-hating Team Red pom-pom shakers who aren't ever going to support the Clintons (or the Democrats) anyway. So that's a wash.

Moderate Republicans, independents and otherwise Rand-friendly Democrats, on the other hand, aren't going to give much of a damn if any about (or will actually be turned off by) recycling this 15-year-old bilgewater.

And whatever extent to which this might "ding" the Clintons can be very easily avoided by simply keeping Slick Willie's efforts seperate from events or venues at which the "war on women" card is to be played. (And then there is Slick's expert ability to schmooze for lucre and broker power-deals "behind the scenes" ...)

Beyond scoring some points for Rand from Clinton-hating GOP stalwarts, this tack will go nowhere and could very well actually hurt Rand among the general populace if he pushes it too long (especially given that there's nothing preventing anyone else from jumping on this creaky old bandwagon - anyone can do it. Whipping up "anti-Clinton" sentiment will NOT automatically translate into boosting "pro-Rand" sentiment).
