Rand Paul Falsely Accused of Plagiarizing NSA Lawsuit by Mattie Fein

I also feel bad for this guy Fein.

I'm thinking that maybe this is one of those times that you may not want to protest to much.

Lawyers arguing about stuff. Imagine that.

Q. What do you call 500 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
A. a good start

What do you call a million prosecutors and no lawyers?

(I don't have an ending to the joke but just think it should be noted, many do do righteous work)

It's crazy. The NSA is spying on every detail about EVERYONE, Rand is the only chance we'll have in a long time to get a truly constitutional president, and MAYBE turn this country around. And we're up in the air about who wrote a lawsuit? ...................... And LE is right. We know Rand's fighting for liberty - we should be the last people he should have to watch out for, and should be using our energy to expand his reach.

I'm also reminded of a Reagan quote: "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit."

I doubt this one will stick much. Cuccinelli is the accused plagiarist, not Rand.

This. Too many breathless posts in this thread, though it's mostly coming from one person.

Expect Rachel Maddow

Rachel Maddow will say something negative? About a Republican? Oh noes!

Washington Post said:
Fein, who has not been paid in full for his legal work by Paul’s political action committee, was furious that he had been omitted from the filing he wrote. “I am aghast and shocked by Ken Cuccinelli’s behavior and his absolute knowledge that this entire complaint was the work product, intellectual property and legal genius of Bruce Fein,” Mattie Fein, his ex-wife and spokeswoman, told me Wednesday. “Ken Cuccinelli stole the suit,” she said, adding that Paul, who “already has one plagiarism issue, now has a lawyer who just takes another lawyer’s work product.”

This sounds so over-the-top that it's laughable. Woman sounds like a real piece of work.

Its a frikkin lawsuit!!! A law suit can be plagiarized?

Common sense.....out the window

The idea that it is plagiarism is ridiculous.

Every thing we type on here is plagiarism by definition.

Regardless of who is in the wrong here, this will be a significant and revealing test of Rand's leadership qualities.

Will he "take sides" and let this devolve into petty infighting, disruptive bickering and mutual recriminations?

Or will he take a concilatory approach and try to "smooth ruffled feathers" and "make this right" - whatever that might entail (including the making of mea culpas, if that is what it takes)?

Rand is the captain of this ship and how he steers it through these straits will be both important and illuminating.

Very insightful analysis.

did you guys read the article before jumping? it was bruce's wife, or ex-wife whatever possibly having one of those women tantrum, you are so eager to jump on rand that you didn't even bother realizing it's not bruce himself saying this and you are actually with the msm on this? let's follow this story and i think this is a make or break point. if story turns out wrong yet again this time i think it's time for rand haters to leave this forum

Sibel Ebmunds (remember her?) has pretty much nothing good to say about Bruce Fein. http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/category/bruce-fein_the_greatest_threat_to_the_ron_paul_candidacy/

Seems he has a habit of doing work for people, then not sending them bills?

Yeah, I remember when she wrote that. I don't remember all the details, but apparently she had a bone to pick with him about him calling her on some things she said that were not well, truthful, and this was her stab at revenge. Somewhere on The Daily Paul and linked to here, someone from Ron's campaign came on after everyone was acting all hysterical about what Sibel had said and made a pretty lengthy post that cleared it all up. Even the most fervent hysterical person appeared to be satisfied and if memory serves me right, there were quite a few.

The upset wasn't about any late-billing, but since people were going to go to the link you provided and see all the other BS Sibel said, I thought it was important to say something.

The first story there talks about how he was working for someone in Ohio, but not billing her because he expected the funds to come from a third party. That's not what the dust up was, but I just saw a business model that might fit this scenario, too.

Right now I'm just pissed. Even if the whole thing turns out to be totally bogus, no matter what Rand does this one's probably going to hit where it hurts. Takes the wind right out of the sails with the whole defending the 4th amendment deal. Good thing it's so early.

#HolyConcernTrollMuch?

Do a google news search... 99% of the coverage is 100% about the lawsuit.

This nothing-burger Bruce Fein sideshow is nothing more than something (anything!) for hyper partisan PROGRESSIVE trolls (like you) and Obama's online army to choke chew on while Rand becomes the face of the fight against the NSA, warrantless wiretapping, (war with Iran, mandatory minimums, drone strikes) and basically all the major civil liberty issues that Progressives pretend to be the CHAMPIONS of...

Rand did a pretty idiotic thing here, his name is all over the news for plagiarizing again. He can't even file a lawsuit without stealing someone's words.

Jesus dude, jump to conclusions much? Stop calling Rand an idiot. Neg rep. All you are doing is taking a headline and running with it with 0 regard to the fact that someone could be trying to sabotage the good work being done.

Bruce Fein is a pompous, self-absorbed, self-important, brat. I can't believe that Rand even associated with him.

First time I've ever been called a liberal troll lol. I'm not saying that Rand won't do that. I am only commenting from the perspective of political strategy and how likely I think the story is to gain traction. Repeated attacks into established narratives are almost always damaging regardless of their merit, and they open the door for reopening that old wound even more in the future. It's a weak point only because he's already been hit there multiple times.
