Senator Rand Paul has endorsed State Rep. Kurt Bills in the Republican primary for the United States Senate in Minnesota. Rep. Bills is expected to make a strong push for the Party endorsement this week at the Minnesota GOP State convention.

Said Senator Paul, “Kurt Bills is a man seeking office for the right reasons. He is a teacher and a coach, not a career politician. Kurt wants to preserve the greatness of America for the students in his classroom and the young athletes in his gym, not serve the special interests and political elites.

“Kurt understands the tremendous debt burden we face and stands alone in this race as a leader ready to bring Americans together, fight the out-of-control spending, and get our country back on track.

“Kurt Bills will be a strong, independent voice in the United States Senate that will stand up to the leadership of both parties when they try to over-spend, over-tax or violate the Constitution. Kurt has a unique ability to bring people together to solve the problems we face and is clearly the GOP’s best chance for victory in the Fall.

“Minnesota needs bold, principled leadership in the United States Senate, and Kurt Bills is just the person to bring it. I wholeheartedly endorse Kurt and hope all Republicans, conservatives, Tea Party activists and independents will join me.”

If I were him, I would focus advertisements on ending the wars overseas in order to appeal to indendents and Democrats.

Instead, he's supporting marriage amendments and foreign aid to Israel (after previously saying all foreign aid needs to end). He's moving in the wrong direction.

It's exactly why I don't give money to people seeking political office.
