With his ego shattered, Cruz breaks both legs in a botched suicide attempt of jumping off the Whitehouse balcony. Slowly drinks himself to death in the West Wing.

If Cruz does not do well and Trump is far ahead as the front runner then the best thing for Rand to do to help him win his Senate seat is to endorse Trump.

It would be foolish for him not to. If he doesn't the people of KY will look at Rand as the defender of the establishment and the anti-Trump rather than to ride his coattails. Trump will put up one of his candidates to stop him and has already insinuated as much after Rand's attacks on him.

Quick question.......do you want to empower the neos? Because that's the likely scenario if they take the white house again. All the shady stuff, that they did to Ron Paul and then with Mel Bradford. I will do all in my power politically to see that Rubio or Cruz never reach the White House steps.

Rand has nothing to gain from spitefulness like that.

I don't expect Cruz to end up in the White House. Assuming he doesn't, he will continue to be a Senator, and his influence in the Senate will grow after this primary cycle. He has been arguably Rand's best ally in the Senate. As long as Rand doesn't burn that bridge now, his attacks on Cruz during his presidential campaign can be swept under the rug, and his own ability to get legislation passed will increase if Cruz still sees him as an ally. Rand will need to stick to his guns on foreign policy. But he shouldn't make an enemy out of Cruz unnecessarily by continuing to fight him in the presidential primaries while Rand isn't even running any more.

I have been scratching my head trying to figure out Rand's behavior since last year. You are right it does not add up but why. I suppose it will be obvious at some point.
