Raising the White Flag

Perfectly understandable. In that particular case that Donnay posted, I'm just thinking that if it were one pharmacist who doled those out, that he she be sued right alongside the doctor, and they should both lose their licenses and do time. Hell, if you were rich and powerful, you should pursue your case as well.

In a side note, I think that more of us types should go into these professions where we can protect patients and be sure their rights are well-known.

"Our types" would be quickly gotten rid off, trust me.

We're not pursuing anything, I don't have thousands of dollars to throw at a lawyer(or even my bills), and she's fine now. 3 years, pill free. They said she'd be on pills for her seizures for the rest of her life(i.e. until the pills killed her). She now has less(petit mal) seizures than she did while taken pills for it to "control" them. She may have one a month now. May have. She hasn't had any in the last two months. She couldn't drive the entire time she was taking those meds, because they were causing so many seizures. She now drives. She would have up to almost 400 petit-mals per day when she was on pills for it, and couldn't even work for a while there:eek:. Of course, that wasn't the pills doing that, now was it? Something I pointed out numerous visits, but I don't have letters after my name, therefore I'm an idiot. :rolleyes:FUCK DOCTORS.

I dated a woman for a year who took anti-depressants because she had been "hurt" by men who would break her heart. The problem really delt with the amount of alcohol that she consumed daily. She drank like a sailor cursed and she knew she wasn't suppose to do it, but you know, she had an addiction problem. Mood swings were terrible.

I hate those fucking meds. I was on prozac and paxil at one point in my early 20's and I will never take that shit again. I fussed at my mom for taking Paxil and she said that she would go crazy if she came off of it. I changed the subject at that point to politics.

Or-the pharmacist cares as much as the physician does. That was our experience with them.

My wife was scheduled to see her Dr's every THREE TO SIX MONTHS-those visits rarely exceeded 5 minutes, and usually after waiting a bare minimum of 2 hours to even get to that 5 minute meeting, in a waiting room FULL of ZOMBIES. That time period is unacceptable when someone is on those medications, something we found out the hard way. It was the same thing, changes were made over the phone, no face to face, blowing me off when reporting adverse reactions, etc. Once, she was given a generic of Keppra, when she was supposed to be taking the real deal only. Turns out, the generic looked nothing like the real deal, and since she still had some of the real Keppra left, she ended up 2.5 times her dose of it one day because the generic looked so much like the other meds she was taking.

Needless to say, bad things happened. I flew into a rage and drove to and was nearly arrested at her doctors office, after I got blown off on the phone for the last fucking time, simply calling (AGAIN) to let them no something seriously was wrong with her...The pharmacy bitch was extremely condecending towards me BEFORE this all happened that day, I went to pick up her meds and noticed immediately they were the generics, to which she assured me it was all the same(not true). Fuck this industry, for real. Sorry, I get all spun up over this shit.

They have me on generic keppra from having a seizure 3 years ago. I can't not take it or I suffer from withdrawls. I have decreased the amount I'm taking because it messes with my head. I'd like to kick it all together but my nerologist insists I take it. I've not had any problems but can't prove whether thats from taking the drugs or just because it was a one time health problem thing. I can tell you that after my seizure I lost my short term memory for 1/2 a year or so. Something I'm not willing to do again. So for now I'll take it. Epilepsy runs in my family my uncle had the exact same symptoms at almost the exact same age.

Have you ever check out if you have a magnesium deficiency? I know a couple family members who were deficient of a few minerals (zinc & Magnesium) and had their blood check by a alternative doctor. One of my family members was a very heavy aspartame addict--which if you research aspartame you will see it affects the brain. They stopped it and started on a program of minerals and have not had any seizures since.

All my blood test long after the fact and ever since have been fine with the exception of slightly D deficient. The night I had my seizure the hospital spent 4 hours grilling me over which illegal drugs/drug cooking or alcohol I was on....because people in their 30s don't have seizures that just come out of nowhere. Fyi, I do enjoy Captain Cokes from time to time but other than that don't do any other drugs. So all the time they could have pulled some blood to see if there was something abnormal right after the event got wasted. So, no they've not found anything to be wrong with me other than genetics.

Reading all these replies makes me feel really sad. Please be careful with yourselves and your love ones regarding these drugs. Make sure you and those around you understand the side effects of these drugs.

It sounds like these drugs are disconnecting people from their spirits I can't think of anything 6 a possibly be more damaging to being human. People on
these medications do need close monitoring by someone who actually knows them and cares about them. Doctors should be ashamed of themselves who prescribe these drugs without keeping close contact with your patients and making sure they understand the side effects should suffer consequences if something bad happens to 1 of your patience as a result of being on these drugs

The OP makes a good point, more and more people are depending on legal drugs to cope with life's issues, some are of there own doing, some are thrust upon them through no fault of there own. However the dependency on legal drug use is skyrocketing. For example I have relative that works at a large company that has health benefits. They track the percentage of expense used and where they are going. 10 years ago only 10% went to legal mental and emotional support drugs, now 80% goes towards it, remember this is 80% of ALL health claims. It rose a staggering 70% in just 10 years.

Now here is my concern if a terrible major calamity strikes of any type, and these people can't get there meds refilled, where does that leave them and the people around them. If they couldn't cope when things were basically "normal" how will they react when things are very ugly and they have no meds.
If you have 75% of the population suddenly coming off all there meds at the same time the result for society won't be good.

Let's hope they don't all own guns either. Because massive suicides and raging are a real possibility
