Question for those who own blogs...

I have 4 niches with 4 domain names in which I would like to create blogs for.

Does that mean I have to pay for 4 separate web hosting services?

So lets say it costs 6.95 a month for a basic hosting package with wordpress and all the bells and whistles, I would have to pay for 3 more plans to have all of my sites up and running mutually exclusive from one another?

I'm too drunk to say this with certainty, but I'm certain you're able to run four domains from one host -- just have them point to different pages on your server for the home page.

As for hosting four separate Wordpress blogs from one host, I'm leaning toward no, since I believe WP takes up a unique MySQL db.

I'm not a web expert, but couldn't you just link to the blogs from your various websites? (and the websites would become a sort of intro page to the blog)

I only have the 4 domain names...no sites. The 4 blogs would be the actual sites.

I didn't make that clear.

I use hostgator.

For like $8/month, you can host as many domains as you want.

That means that you can have as many domains as you want, each pointing to as many installations of Wordpress as you want.

I can show you how to set that stuff up also.

People have recommended hostgator to me as well as bluehost for wordpress.

Is it a pain in the ass to set that stuff up?

I don't think it's too bad.

First you order your hosting, then you log into your hosting control panel.

Then you click the add-on domain button, and add the 4 domains that you have, one by one.

Then you have login to the control panel for your 4 domains, and point their DNS to hostgator.

I know that may sound complex, but it really takes like 5 minutes, if you know what you are doing I guess.

Then you have to go back into domain control and install wordpress on each domain.

There is this thing called "fantastico" in there, which does it in like two clicks.

Once you blogs are installed, you have to install some good themes, and I can show you how to do that stuff too.
