As I have stated before, cities are not the whole planet. The entire area of paved surface I am quite sure is less than .01% of the planets surface, if not less. And temperature readings in cities will continue to go up as more building go up, which emit heat, and as more cars are on the roads, which release heat and carbon. So temperature readings in cities will continue to go up. that does not mean the entire planet's temperature has risen, that means the temperature of cities have risen.
