Actor Matt Damon is a strong supporter of America's public schools. Just two years ago, the star spoke passionately about the importance of public schools at a Washington DC "Save our Schools" rally. In fact, the actor is so impressed with public school teachers that he has demanded they receive a pay raise. That passion and conviction, however, does not apply to Damon's own children who will not be enrolled into the Los Angeles public school system.

In an interview with the Guardian published Saturday, Damon revealed that he had just moved to Los Angeles from New York, but that he didn't "have a choice" when it came to putting his four daughters into private schools. The multi-millionaire did say that it was "a major moral dilemma" and then made the bizarre excuse that the public schools aren't "progressive" enough.

This would probably mark the first time anyone has ever complained that America's public schools, especially in Los Angeles, aren't left-wing enough.

The Guardian interview is part of the 42 year-old actors promotional tour for his upcoming sci-fi tentpole "Elysium," which opens Friday.

According to early reviews, "Elysium" is a big-budget action film that condemns a future Los Angeles where the super-rich use their wealth and privilege to separate themselves and their families from the city's poor.

Idiot says that she would spend a million dollars on education for her children. Put up or shut up. Oh, she meant any amount of other people's money. Got it.

These people are disgusting... Although, I'm glad he's not poisoning his own daughters with the poison he wants for all others.

Just like Elizabeth Warren and Noam Chomsky working for two of the most expensive and selective private universities in the U.S. But you know, they're doing it for the poor and underprivileged...

There's the "major moral dilemma."

The real issue is their lack of faith in fellow humans and communities, so they feel they need to force it. Damon did not come up with these ideas on his own.

You know, as bad as Chomsky is on some issues, at least he put a lot of his time into the ones he was right about (Foreign policy.)

I primarily judge a person based on what they actually do. One of my uncles does a great job as a pastor and doesn't teach politics from the pulpit, so even though he's a neocon politically, I don't view him in the same light as I would view Tom Cotton or Lindsey Graham.

Chomsky has, to my knowledge, put the majority of his time into foreign policy. So even though I oppose his economic stances, I still support his opposition to imperialism.

Big shocker there...My uncle is the CFO of Gwinnett County Public Schools, and you can bet all his kids went to private schools. That was of course when he actually lived in Gwinnett County; now that he's moved to Walton County he's pushed for another property tax increase in Gwinnett (which they of course agreed to).

See this all the time... then when the new indoctrination brainwashing centers(public schools) are built to kick out obedient zombies.. parents wonder why their children can't get jobs, everything is expensive, and they can't afford to live in Progressivetown USA.

Damon, Affleck, & the rest of the Ivory Tower Marxists, want everyone equal, with the exception of themselves... which is, excuse and excuse, to either fool the public or lie to themselves.

TOTAL FAIL

Well, to be fair, a major reason they can't get jobs is because of all the Engineers and PhD's that have flooded the burger flipping job market...

He's passionate about making public schools better for the majority of kids who can't afford private schools.

That said - he is getting his kids the best education he can afford.

That doesn't strike me as at odds.

Dang, Michelle Fields is H0t!

Here's and interview with her from C-SPAN:

This is actually a pretty interesting interview. Arround 10:00-12:00 she starts talking about how journalism has changed. Instead of covering an event and maybe interviewing a few people, you follow the person the whole 5 miles and maybe get a "Reality TV" type moment. How reporting can't be not biased. About making things go viral... What's news now and what's not vs 50 years ago...
