Pro-Rand Paul Super PAC attacks Jeb ‘Bailout Bush’

‘Bailout Bush’ – That’s What A Pro-Rand Paul Super PAC Is Calling Jeb

A pro-Rand Paul super PAC is out with a new video giving Jeb Bush the nickname “Bailout Bush,” accusing the former Florida governor of being a big supporter of government bailouts.

America’s Liberty PAC says they spending five figures to show the 60-second spot running online to targeted voters in early primary states. The PAC has also acquired the domain BailoutBush.com.

The video shows Bush offering support to the 2008 Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, for example.

“Several of Gov. Bush’s conflicts with the Republican base have been well documented, but no one seems to be talking about perhaps the most damaging issue: Jeb’s long history of support for bailouts,” said John Tate, the president of the super PAC.

That's funny....

"This offer guarantees the presidential candidate can not win a single primary state, let alone the primary election..."

LMAO

My question is this though: Do the kind of republicans that would consider voting for Bush, care about whether or not he supported bailouts? Are there small government republicans that are actually thinking of voting for this guy?

This is horrendously bad. It's amusing for political junkies like us but average voters will not respond to this. Pure mindless garbage.

+1. You are using too much logic, my friend. The people that run this particular superPAC aren't thinking. Just doing. And the end product is mindless trash.

Why not attack him over common core instead? That's a much better issue to hit him on.

Because corporate bailouts are something that both Republicans and Democrats (voters) are largely opposed to. Also people are more emotional in their opposition to bailouts than they are about opposition to common core.

I agree with john Tate on this one. Bailouts prevent markets from correcting, continue bad policy which hurts all Americans, and is really an unprecedented level of corruption. How bailouts are anything less than criminal in intent and practice is beyond me. It stuffs cash right into the pockets of those who are probably well aware that the irresponsibility of their decisions would result in financial turmoil.

Steal from the poor to reward bad behavior of the rich. It is a very important issue.

Thats the problem, I'VE YET TO MEET ONE. There was some NBC poll on that had Bush 3.0 at 23% or so. Where are these voters? I've yet to find any.

Of course it is an important issue. The question is whether it's an important issue to the people we are trying to convince not to vote for Bush. I believe common core is more universally hated than bailouts at this point.

They are all the old ladies you politely hold the door for and people you still see riding around with W Bush bumper stickers.

I agree, trying to make a joke about serious issues could back fire. Another bad ad and another reason to stay away from funding crap like this.

The ad says Jeb received a bailout when his father was president. Should that have been when his brother was president?
