yeah man, everyone is technically mixed. 99% of white americans are technically part middle eastern. should 99% of white americans call themselves part middle eastern on the census?

race isn't who your parent are, or your genetic lineage. it's really about what you look like.

yeah, obama is 1/2 white. do you think he grew up as a white person or a black person?

im part (25%) some minority. however, i look mostly white. i grew up as a white person. the minority part of me has a minimal impact on my life. most people look at me and think im white. the only real bearing the minority part has on me requires an electron microscope to see; just strands of DNA.

people criticizing obama for considering himself african american are being ridiculous.

for example, suppose you find out tomorrow that you're 10% mexican. yet, all your life you thought you were 100% white. are you now going to start really considering that as part of your identity? identity comes from social interaction, not analysis on an electron microscope.

so, if 99% of white americans shouldn't call themselves part middle eastern on the census, exactly when and why and exactly at what % (and why this %) should people start considering themselves a pure race of some sort?

obviously the only answer to this question has to be completely arbitrary.

EG

consider that at some point, one of your ancestors, assuming youre white, was 100% middle eastern. should his kid that would then be 1/2 white 1/2 middle eastern put white or middle eastern, or both, on the census? what about his 3/4, 1/4 kid? what about that guys 7/8, 1/8 kid? then the 15/16, 1/16 guy? and so on? where, and why, and what objective reasoning is this based on, should a person in this lineage no longer consider themselves part middle eastern?

obviously someone in your lineage at some point chose to make this decision.

i answer that question as when other people don't see the middle eastern in you or don't treat you like it. most mixed race people feel the same way.

I've never seen a post try so hard to avoid dealing with the issue. We are talking about a person who has a white mother and black father. Why do you waste 90% of your post talking about 10% this, 1/8th this, 25% that. You are so far away from the actual point. Two equal halves. That is the point.

Attractiveness is based on bone structure, facial symmetry, and body definition. These three things are generally equally distributed in different races. Black women are more prone to obesity, but this is a socio-economic factor, not a race factor. Correlation rather than causation. Your comment is assinine.
