Precious metals are cheap now

"As today’s Chart of the Day (courtesy Bloomberg) demonstrates, on a year-over-year percentage change basis, gold bullion is currently exhibiting the strongest buy signal of the entire bull market, far surpassing the previous buy signals placed in 2005, 2007, and late 2008-early 2009.
Must See year-over-year percent change of gold bullion chart for the duration of the bull market is below:"

I;d like to see the chart for silver - my inkling is that the data supports a buy signal to an ever more extreme degree...

get to know your local coin shop dealer. Mine doesnt put his maples leafs or others in the front case for public consumption. But when you ask him, he gets them out and will sell them. I like picking through his 90% too

Over the course of this century (or maybe just a decade or two!) new tech like Asteroid Mining (or robotized ocean / underground mining, etc) will make the price of all "precious" metals drop to near-zero. The market will see this coming, and the price will start dropping long before the first loads from space.

Don't shoot the messenger.

No idea what the price is going to do, but my metal in ounces is still the same.

Precious metals are still just that...

it's the dollar that has gained in value.

The closet things I've see to a raise in over a decade. Well that and the other little asset defaulting gains we've made.

The BIG question is, where is the bubble bursting now, and what assets are now being written off to account for this stronger dollar?

Just placed my order for $2000 worth of silver on Amagi Metals. Got in at ~$19.65 and $2 over spot. Now it's time for the popcorn.

I have always gone with a different approach , I buy a little every Wed , some Fridays , when I was younger , mostly just every Saturday. Worked well for me since the US and Canadians , and Germans and Mexicans quit minting ordinary coins in silver, do not think I have ever bought 93 1/4 ounces in one day unless I had a buyer for some @ a markup within a few days....

I could have beat that price for you a bit , but not that quantity , my guy would not have that much in a day , sells out quick .

No kidding ! Me and my men were buying earlier this year at higher prices. Disappointing but oh well. We want to buy more by the end of the year but had to stop buying so we could purchase some new electrical and computer equipment. Hopefully these prices hold. I think they will. 2014 is when things will viciously turn I suspect. Obamacare hitting and the US going back into recession will be the catalyst. Until then it's just noise and a rare opportunity to accumulate positions for those able to do so.

Hey - did you end up buying the buffalo head ones or the American eagle?

You think it's gonna go lower.. it seems to bump, then drop, bump, then drop.

It seems like this bump is different. I could be wrong, but for one thing, it is already startlingly low. I got the Indian head ones.

I was on the phone to buy gold at 930 est yesterday and no one picked up and I had to leave a message. $40 later I am now waiting. I have no doubt we will make new lows soon.
