PPP Poll: South Carolina

Good thing the campaign is going to launch that ad against Santorum starting Monday..

Bye the way, looks like Perry won't make it to Florida. I Guess that means that by the end of January it will probably be down to just 3 or 4 at the most (only four if Gingrich wins one and Santorum wins one).

If we can make it into the top 3, I'll be happy

Yeah we really need to come in the top three in SC. Hopefully a second place finish in NH will give us something of a boost and a fourth place finish by Newt will pull him down enough to get below us.

So far it looks like Gingrich didn't lose a whole lot from his fourth place Iowa finish, and Paul didn't gain much from Iowa. Santorum, of course, is moving up. But it also looks like we need to do a lot to take out Gingrich as well as Santorum in Iowa. The anti-Gingrich ad was devastating. I don't think the anti-Santorum ad is as effective. It's too much narrator and not enough of other people commenting.

But the lesson of Iowa was that taking down Gingrich (or Santorum) doesn't necessarily bring Ron Paul up. We need some very positive and very persuasive ads for Ron Paul as well.

yeah S.C. and Florida were never going to be a strong spot for Paul. Nevada on the other hand could be a Paul stronghold but it's a bit too soon to tell right now. Let's just hope for a solid 2nd in NH and not doing miserably in S.C. and Florida and then we can blow up in Nevada. We got 2nd there in '08 after all.

We got a 5-6% boost in SC (depending on the poll) following our 3rd place finish in IA. A strong second in NH should provide another similar boost, moving us into striking place. At that point we continue our constant attacks on Santorum and Newt exposing them for the frauds they are - providing the final boost to get us into 2nd place in SC. After that Santorum and Newt and Perry will be done. And its Paul vs. Romney from there on out.

I think the goal right now should be second place in NH and second place in SC.

What is the deal with Romney in SC? This is a very conservative state and Romney is moderate to liberal. I could see Santorum or Perry taking SC, but never Romney. Ron Paul is not enough of a war monger, so I can understand why he might not do so well there, but Romney? C'mon.

I think Romney is like us in that he has a floor of support that doesn't change, and that is about 25-30%.

I think it's good for us. I think the strategy is weed out all the other candidates until it's just Romney and Paul left. Wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of behind-the-scenes deal going on between them even. Paul agrees to go easy on him and Romney agrees to defend him and pump his talking points a bit. Did anyone notice how Romney seemed to be starting to come around to Paul's foreign policy? He was saying how we should go to war when our security is threatened.

Actually you know I bet Romney is after a Paul endorsement but knows he can only get it if he is more friendly to Paul's ideas. Works great for both parties because that's exactly why Paul is in the race-to make his ideas more mainstream...and he's doing a great job of it.

They are fake conservatives just like most Republicans who hide behind the word because they don't want to be labeled liberal. It's the whole right v. left paradigm BS we are stuck in that a few used tonight during the debate.

Or, they are just herd a of dumb asses...

If Romney had a D after this name, how many of them would support Romney? My case made.
