PPP Poll - only 8% of those polled were between age 18 to 29

In 2008 18-29 in NH was 9%, it was 12% in 2012. In Iowa it was 11% in 2008, but 15% in 2012. So there has been a 3 and 4% difference in the first two, so perhaps we get the same in SC? So instead of 10% (2008 number), we get 13-14%? If Ron Paul does as well as he has with the Youth Vote, he could very well hit 20%.

Based on the actual turnout numbers for this year, (12% to 15%) and not from last time or from generic elections, let's estimate a moderate turnout of 13-14% of 18-29 voters for Paul in SC. That should be enough for ensuring a third place finish above Santorum, and likely at least 20% or above.

To combat the "young people are unreliable problem", we need to take advantage of EARLY VOTING.

In states where there is no excuse early voting, we need to set up tables with Ron Paul info and have carpools throughout the day to the early voting sites at all the college campuses within that state.

These states have no excuse early voting:

Arizona
2/2 - 2/24

Arkansas
5/7 - 5/21

District of Columbia
3/19 - 4/2

Florida
1/21 - 1/28

Georgia
2/13 - 3/2

Illinois
2/27 - 3/19

Indiana
4/9 - 5/7

Louisiana
3/10 - 3/17

Maryland
3/24 - 3/29

Nebraska
4/10 - 5/14

New Mexico
5/8 - 6/2

North Carolina
4/19 - 5/5

Ohio
1/31 - 3/2

Oklahoma
3/2 - 3/5

Tennessee
2/15 - 3/1

Texas
3/19 - 3/30

Utah
6/12 - 6/22

Vermont
1/21 - 3/5

West Virginia
4/25 - 5/5

South Dakota and Wisconsin also have no excuse early voting but I don't have the dates.

cant say they dont vote . sometimes they do , sometimes they dont .
you can say they are a unreliable voting block .

If a campaign has a bunch of supporters, males 18-29, one would hope that those supporters would have the smarts to realize that getting their peers to the polls is priority number 1.

If the supporters lack awareness, and think they, and not the campaign, should be focusing on convincing others, like 65+ women, to like their candidate and not dragging their peers to the polls, you'll get results like this.

We'll have a better idea tomorrow might.

yes, votes and voters. round em up.

Maybe if we get Randy Travis to perform? :)

That was a tactic that worked for Michelle Bachmann. We have lots of rockstars who have been openly supporting Ron Paul. Yes, of course we should be availing ourselves of their willingness to openly support Ron Paul.

Well I don't know why we are so unreliable. I'm 19 and I plan to vote for Ron Paul in the Oregon primaries. I have 3 friends that are also 19 that plan to vote for Ron Paul.

That's because that's the likely turnout. Young people just don't vote. period.

LOL I got negrepped by a young person for saying that. Called me 'offensive.' Then came Iowa and young people didn't vote. Then came NH and young people didn't vote. So I went back and called him on it and he still thinks I'm the problem.

It's people who can't face reality that's the problem. Keep putting 80% effort into a demo that can't get off the couch long enough to vote, and we are squandering resources with which we could direct elsewhere and maybe even win.

Sorry to be so...offensive... ;)

It's GREAT for Colbert - his rally today drew OUR DEMOGRAPHIC to the tune of four THOUSAND people. Who he proceeded to ask to vote for Colbert/Cain - and yes, Cain's name is on the ballot.

grrrrr.

Cain asked the crowd not to vote for him.

we can't vote cause we don't have cars

You are the 18-24 demo who vote and who face reality. Therefore you are not a kid, you are a young adult. There is a big difference.

And precincts are often small enough to walk to your polling place. if not, find a neighbor, turn them on to Ron Paul, and have them give you a ride to the polls. Offer to buy them dinner if they vote for RP too ;)

You are correct. Early Voting can crush elections if you account for it and strategize properly. It can even bring out the youth vote in a similar manner o what you proscribe.

That's because you are an adult who happens to be young. You focused on the right thing too, dragging your friends to the polls. If every young adult drug 5 friends to the polls and made them vote we'd be walking away with it right now.

Youth who support Dr. Paul and his message and who are eligible to vote had better vote and vote often:). Their future depends on stopping the Hobbesian state in both its Democratic and its Republican guises. If they do not, theirs will be a future of poverty, wars and loss of liberty.

Man this could be huge, I hope the campaign and grassroots can really take advantage of this. Taking advantage of this could easily be the difference between winning and losing the republican nomination.

Tsai3904's idea is so hot, I suggest it may be as big as the money bomb concept, if implemented. I suggest it be spread far and wide.
