PPP Michigan

You know, we've all been wanting 1 vs 1 with Romney.

We might do better 1vs1 on Santorum.
There is a segment of Republicans who are very much anti evangelical. Santorum doesn't have a small government record and I don't think he is "electable" vs Obama. Not to mention missing the ballot in places.

I really have to disagree. Santorum would ignite evangelicals in a way that Romney simply couldn't because he is mormon. In fact, I see Paul taking the majority of evangelical votes in a 1 to 1 with Romney.

I don't think Gingrich will win again.

Wow this may be it. The guy who lost senate reelection by 16 points, who swore Iraq had wmds even after bush said they didn't, the man pushing theocracy may face Barack Obama. Who wants to bet Obama wins this like 65-35.

Gingrich openly said he would allow terrorist attacks to get through now and then to 'remind people we're under threat'.

Technically he did say that but we can't skew stuff ourselves, he was just trying to highlight how well Bush was doing I think.

It was a joke but one in poor taste.

Santorum is riding on the crest of a wave that is going to crash very soon. I bet as we speak Romneys team is putting together attack ads that will crush Santorum by Super Tuesday if he doesnt self destruct before then. The only thing thats keeping Santorums momentum going is the sheer ignorance of much of the electorate which will not last. The only question is who is going to benefit most from his demise.

He's a veritable one-man wrecking ball... Erm, one-douche wrecking ball. Not all Catholics are like Santorum, right? Someone please say yes... I'm loosing faith in Christians.

The problem here is selection bais. The reason people think all Christians (and, to a stronger degree, all Catholics) are insane is that you only know about the insane ones. Your standard every day 'do no harm' Christian doesn't run around starting sentences with "As a Christian I think..." - and you can pretty much garntee that any senctence which starts with that phrase is going to be a doozy.

With Catholics it's worse - as one of the (arguably) stricter Christian sects, you not only hear "As a Catholic I think" but then it's followed up with something insane related to how if we would only wash our hands every third tuesday of years divisible by 6 then there would be world peace.

Most Catholics, and indeed a majority of all Christian sects, simply follow their faith and let others be - very normal, well adjusted people. It's the greatest example of a 'vocal minority' I've ever witnessed.

In short - don't worry, we hate them too because they give the rest of us a bad name.

Yesterday a woman at church came up to interrupt a conversation I was having with a pro-Ron friend, and mockingly asked if we were talking about Ron Paul. She said, "What about Santorum?" and I told her I thought Rantorum was the WORST of the lot, that he was a warmonger who was pro-BIG GOVERNMENT, No Child Left Behind, etc. She said, "A warmonger? Because he likes Israel, right?" in a really snarky way. BLEH.

These people need to have their heads examined, IMHO.

Sadly you need to ask her Is Santorum running for the office of Israel or America? surely they will be quiet then.
And ask her if she wants BIG GOVERNMENT controlling her life 24/7?

Yep, I said this when Gringrich re-surged as well, I think it will always fall back to Romney, he has the money and the PTB behind him.

Many catholics that like santorum are conservative 'value' people, but liberal big government "can help" everyone voters (they seem to look the other way when voting for some dems really). This is why they vote for obama. Obama only needed to convince them that he had some sort of values (which he obviously doesnt) and they loved obama's big government help the needy programs. Santorum brings it all for them and keeps them in fear for their lives from the "terrorists"
