Only in 2025, deep within the Marxist revolution, could heading a presidential recommendation committee, (yes, recommendation, DOGE has no authority to cut a dime or fire a single person. All DOGE can do is recommend to the president or to congress places to cut, superfluous employees to furlough or incidents of waste, fraud and abuse) for free, and finding incidents of gross, gross abuse, fraud, waste and malfeasance be considered "literally Hitler".
But of course, to the mobs of Marxists and woe-men and coloreds and queers and troons and foreign invaders that are now the base of the opposition party, anything to the right of Stalin or Mao is "literally Hitler".
If they are so concerned about America turning into Germany, circa 1934, they should cease turning America into Germany circa 1928.
Besides, this is nothing new at all. Reagan appointed the Grace Commission to do exactly the same thing over 40 years ago. Grace found the same waste, fraud and abuse, although not in the staggering numbers and insane ventures that DOGE is finding, but still, it was pretty eye opening.
And of course, nothing really changed, a few minor policy adjustments happened, a few butterfly bandages applied, a few programs cut ever so slightly, and then the whole thing just fizzled out after the exact same circus freak show started their caterwauling and Congress stonewalled.
