Possibly 5 million dollars

One More Time

I'm sure we've all been exposed to these figures before.
But it never hurts to drive home the point once more.

Million dollar donations are great, however, I believe that the battle can still (and will be) won fighting in the trenches.
It can be won by advancing inch by inch, foot by foot, yard by yard.
To quote one of the greatest men whoever walked the face of the Earth:

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
--- Mahatma Gandhi

If one million people gave only $100...the war would be won.
If one tenth of that amount of people (one hundred thousand) gave only $1000...the war would be won.

EVERYONE who claims to be a Ron Paul supporter absolutely MUST join "The Revolution"
I am only speaking to those who have not yet given. Please stop your incessant babbling about Dr. Paul's virtues and put your money where you claim your heart lies and do something.
Whether you've got $10, $25, $100 or $100,000. NOW IS THE TIME!!!

I really don't mean to be harsh...just to be respectable, yet firmly truthful.
Let's not win just the battle...let's win the war!

I agree. I think that Ron should put the 100 dollar challenge on his website. I think that would encourage people to donate a little more.

seriously

seriously people,

We all need to get out in the real world as much as we can to get the message to people who dont use the internet. I keep hearing stories about people talking to grandmothers who use to support F Thompson, but liked Ron Paul after they heard his message, and people saying they wont even vote, but once they heard about Ron Paul, they decided to actually vote this time.

I think this is very common out there in the real world, and we need to put an end to this by spreading the word. Tell everyone you know that likes him to get out there and tell at least 10 people about him, and have those people tell 10 more. Its the only way were ever going to get the message out there on a massive scale, unless of course the mass media starts doing their job, yeah right.

Also, give a few bucks to the campaign........... advertising costs lots of money and is very important in getting the message out.

I hate to be a parade-rainer, but this 5 million thing is only a rumor. We're going to look ridiculous if it is not true.

I got this email from Bill Dumas @ Pasadena, CA meetup

I just checked with campaign headquarters regarding this article.

The Ron Paul 2008 campaign did not approve the donation amount reported in this article. The figure is not accurate and Ron Paul campaign officials are not pleased with this inaccurate reporting.

Please do not forward this link and inform anyone who may have received it that the Ron Paul 2008 figures sited in this article are not accurate nor supported by the campaign committee.

Regardless of that disclaimer, this campaign does indeed have "legs" as Pat said!!

I wonder if they are upset because they have more, have less or simply do not want any info about the amount obtained to be leaked until reporting?

Not much, but I sent 5 more a few days ago, and I'm sending 5 more this week. :)

if you work for the money, wouldn't the money you earn from your labor be considered your personal funds?

I like your thinking, but ... no quid pro quos--that is, if Dr. Paul supporters have work that needs to be done and prefer to hire other Ron Paul supporters, that's one thing.

However, giving you money for the purpose of giving to the campaign would be "laundering" the money to skirt the federal election laws (thanks McCain) and would be very illegal. :(

Yeah because we have 10 million. :D

I got a bad feeling that we are far less than this amount of 5 million now, what about that other bit of information that they had 3-4 million a week ago or that they jumped to 2 million after the May 15 debate. :( :( :( :( :(

I donated

First time a hundred and second time two hundred. I hope to reach a thousand in all. Dig in those pockets! Lets show our support loud and clear!

My birthday is next week and I am having my family donate to the campain instead of gifts.

My hope is they will stick around the web page and read a little :)

Let's put some of this in perspective: In the first reporting totals from the first quarter, Dr. Paul did better than most of the second tier. While most of this is still fairly early in the campaign, there will be some candidates who don't make the cut over the summer (next reporting deadline at the end of this month, next debate on August 5th, August 11th straw poll in Ames, etc.).

If we all do our part (I mean if all of us do our part--even a $5 donation adds up, adds to his number of contributors and reduces the "average" donation amount so there are NO EXCUSES not to give SOMETHING), then Dr. Paul will not only make the next "cut" when some candidates drop out but also have the resources to get his message out and compete with the top tier.

Also, as an inside scoop goes, please note that the contributions go to the Clute office in Texas which is not used to the volume of presidential campaign donations (I know that during Congressional campaigns many years back that the mail full of checks would sit for what seemed as an excrutiatingly long time before being opened, entered in the database and deposited). The Arlington headquarters in metro DC answers phone calls. My money says that, given the circumstances, that no one will know with any certainty what the totals are until they prepare the FEC report.

Donating online reduces the database backlog, but DONATE, DONATE, DONATE!

I can't say that I'm not a little disappointed about the 5 million maybe being inaccurate. I just hope he has a decent amount of cash by the time he has to report in.

Andrew Michel, event coordinator for Ron Paul told me on the phone that the campaign had millions of dollars.

thermometer type graph for donations

Maybe this has been metioned before but why doesn't Ron Pauls campaign website have a thermometer type graph showing the current level of donations with 100 million being at the top so we can all see what is needed?

I think the thermo-graph would be a great idea! but to show growth in a more meaningful way i'd have the top level being 20 million+. it would be very motivating to see a running total and may increase over all donations.

I will be donating this weekend another 100 dollars. I saw that nearly, if not all, of Ron Paul's contributions come from private citizens. As long as we all keep giving the money we can afford to give, I think we'll be alright.

Keep it rolling in guys and gals.
