Independent Greg Orman has opened up a lead in his effort to unseat Republican Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts, according to a new poll from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.

Orman leads Roberts 41-34, with Democrat Chad Taylor — who announced plans to end his campaign earlier this month — capturing 6 percent of the vote. Libertarian Randall Batson earned 4 percent support in the poll, which was first provided to the Huffington Post. The automated phone and online survey of 1,328 likely voters was taken between Sept. 11 and Sept. 14. The margin of error is plus-or-minus 2.7 percentage points.

46% disapprove of Sen. Roberts with only 29% approving his tenure. Not good for him.

Who is Orman and is he better than the Libertarian candidate? I haven't followed this race.

Orman seems like **** looking at his wiki page, close to Goldman Sachs/pro abortion/i'm guessing he's a neocon too

Speaking of Wolf, Roberts should drop out and let Milton Wolf take his spot. It is obvious people are tired of him.

Wolf would have even less of a chance to win than Roberts. We have a massive amount of "moderate Republicans" in Kansas who are really just liberal Democrats in disguise. It's always been that way. They have a problem with basic Republican policies like cutting taxes. That's why Brownback is in such big trouble in his reelection campaign for Governor, because he cut taxes. The so called "moderate Republicans" think that it's extremely controversial to cut taxes. These people certainly wouldn't vote for Milton Wolf.

Oh. I was under the impression people were against Roberts because of his residency issues and length of time in office.

No, that's really only a minor problem for him. The Republican Party in Kansas in general is in trouble in November because of a massive revolt by so called "moderate Republicans." Brownback and Kobach are both behind in the polls. There was a PPP poll that showed that the Republican candidates are only beating Hillary by 2-3% in Kansas in a hypothetical 2016 race. Kansas has taken a sharp turn to the left. Colorado is more conservative than Kansas right now.
