it's possible that we're all energy. It's what holds us together, powers our brians and bodies.

Einstein said that energy can neither be created or destroyed, so it would be safe to say that when you die, your energy goes back to the planet... and is then distributed to who knows what.

But... who really knows for sure. I guess we'll all find out in December 2012

in an infinite universe the atomic particles that make up "you" will be reconstituted an infinite number of times, in an infinite number of arrangements. The periods of non activity (death) don't matter because only life is time-constrained.

I don't believe in a soul or an after life, per se, but I keep an open mind when it comes to the idea of singularity.

As best we can tell given our current understanding of cosmology, not only is there not enough mass to pull the Universe back together again to result in a "big crunch" but, because of dark energy, the current rate of expansion of the Universe is accelerating. Therefore all matter and energy will grow infinitely more diffuse as time moves forward.

Do I believe in God? Well, that's an easy question, so long as you define God properly...

Since atheists and agnostics are generally picky about how they define their beliefs, there should be an answer "other" if you don't want to skew your poll.
