Depends on what he's working within the Republican party to achieve.
Working within the Republican party is good.
Endorsing Romney is terrible.
he is having more success than those working within the libertarian party.
I think most people can sense it was the "obligatory" endorsement though. It's not like Rand is out stumping for Romney, and issuing fund raising letters for him.

I'll have to ponder how I feel about the question in the OP for a bit, but I know how I feel about sushi.
Frappin' YUCK.
Everyone sweeps Ron's terrible endorsements under the rug like they never happened. Any other liberty candidate though the pitchforks come out and Paul supporters are ready to hang'em by their fingernails.I think the endorsement was a good move if his plan is to work within the party (which it is). Stuff like being the 1st one to say Romney will win the election imo gives him cover when he does things that aren't necessarily mainstream Republican ideas right now. It also allows him to criticize Romney if he does happen to get elected.
Lets be honest I doubt many of us will vote for Romney because Rand endorsed him so I don't really see why it's so terrible. Even Ron has endorsed some awful Republicans.

Who forced Ron to endorse these people? Keep in mind Ron has said before that many people ask for his endorsement yet he issues only a few. So I'm still wondering how much he's really been forced.
Rand being a U.S. Senator is forced to endorse the party's nominee, see I can play that game too. Moreover, Rand was totally open about this during his Senate run that he would indeed endorse the nominee. When Ron Paul was asked about his endorsement of neocon congressmen, Ron said in so many words that he was forced to do it. Rand to the opposite "Romney can save the economy" approach. Nobody believes Ron actually supported the people he endorsed. You (as you've said in the past) seem to believe Rand actually plans to vote for Romney. That's the difference. That said, what's done is done. Time to move on.

What can you do about it?no he has sold out
